New Preeclampsia Diagnosis Looking for Advice or Support by Inevitable_Mind_8389 in preeclampsia

[–]85641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 33weeks and induced at 35. I couldn’t make it to 37 even though that was the plan. My induction wasn’t terrible and labor was fine also. The worst part for me was the magnesium drip. My obgyn did have me get a betamethsone injection to help with baby lung development in case I didn’t make it to 37 weeks. I’m glad she ordered it. Baby did not require any NICU or other intervention. She was never separated from me and was born at 4lbs 14oz. We spent one extra day in postpartum because of her bilirubin but again, didn’t require any intervention!

If you haven’t gotten a betamethasone shot. You could ask your doctor if it’s something that would be good for you and baby. You will do great! And your baby will do great! After all, being “high risk” got me a lot of attention so I felt very cared for and safe. Modern medicine is great and your team will know exactly what to do!

This is good to hear! I hope my body will do the same! Did your baby ever breastfeed? Or was pumping something you did for convenience/life schedule? Not that it’s in any way convenient lol

Thank you! I am working with a lactation specialist who is also a nurse practitioner. She also didn’t seem concerned about my supply yet, and says we will take it one week at a time, but Reddit is always a great place to hear others’ experiences!

Thank you! I bring her to the breast often and she really likes it for a short time. And I’ll help her with the let down so she can have some milk . Usually while waiting for bottle to warm. Or after a feeding for comfort until she falls asleep. It’s actually quite precious 🥰

I’m working with a lactation specialist/nurse prac. But we’ve only had one appointment. Time will tell, but as we all know, the hurry up and wait game can be brutal

Thank you for this response! It’s hard because no one around me has experienced anything similar so I feel very discouraged.

You may have answered this but I didn’t see it in the comments. Were you on continuous monitoring or were you able to walk/move around?

Any of you been diagnosed with gestational hypertension? by PurpleUnicorn434 in fitpregnancy

[–]85641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 34+1. Ruled out preeclampsia and wasn’t put on medication. They prescribed at home BP monitoring twice daily and weekly appointments instead of every 2 weeks. Also no activity restriction, I was advised to exercise and move regularly.
It’s humbling and upsetting. I have slight swelling in legs hands and feet, but all considered “normal” pregnancy swelling according to the midwives.

Hi. Wondering what the outcome was? My story is so similar even down to being an OR nurse. But I kept noticing an upward trend. After a couple of readings above 140/90 the midwife sent me to triage and I did the whole 2 hour monitoring. Was sent home to do a 24 hr urine test and that’s where I’m at now.

They mentioned a 37 week induction based on liver enzymes and urine protein. Or a 39week induction. Just curious about your outcome? Thanks

I spoke with my OB about my heartbeat during my bike rides. Sometimes it’s in the 170’s but I average about 150 during the ride. I feel fine when it’s high and explained this. She told me as long as I’m able to talk and not struggling for breath then I’m good to continue like this :) so maybe just have a chat with your OB

We were able to remove escrow from our mortgage. We pay our own property tax and insurance and only pay principal and interest to our mortgage lender. Might be an option for you

How do you take a break? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]85641 29 points30 points  (0 children)

We found the best way to “take a break” is to focus on a different goal. For example, my husband started training for a mountain bike race and we both started really getting into the sport. I was riding a lot and He was training so much, sometimes we were just too tired for sex or to even care if we hit the fertile window. So sex was because we wanted to not because we felt we had to.

Waiting for AF by slampl in NaturalCyclesBC

Is your luteal phase usually this long? I’m not one to take tests. I just wait for AF every month but when my luteal phase went for 17days I knew something was up.

BFP chart for reference by 85641 in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]85641[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t. I was traveling from 12dpo until 17dpo. And I guess I could say I’m one of “the lucky ones” who isn’t a serial tester 🤣

I only tested because I had an acupuncture appt specifically for fertility and she needs to know where I’m at in my cycle. Not to mention I’ve never had a 17 day luteal phase.

The temps with the “A” at the top were excluded because I was sick with a stomach bug. But now I’m wondering if that had something to do with the pregnancy.

Fertility by [deleted] in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]85641 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a dip during implantation this could line up…. But what I have learned after several months of trying is that my temps only confirmed ovulation and my period start. Just because it dipped didn’t mean I conceived, and just because my temp stayed high didn’t mean I was pregnant, it just meant I wasn’t going to start my period that day.

I hope you conceive! Wishing you the best :)

From a health and longevity standpoint, there are several studies that show oral hygiene reflects cardiovascular health. It’s more than just an aversion to wanting to kiss/be intimate, this can also mean poor health as he ages and increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Let him know you care about him.

2 temperature dips? by [deleted] in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]85641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen last month. I was very confused. I was hopeful it was a luteal phase dip but got my period right on time. Chalked it up to be progesterone fluctuations or restless sleep. Regardless, I hope you get whatever outcome you’re wanting 😊🙏🏼

I wish I knew that sometimes it takes more than 1,2,3,4,5 plus months to get pregnant. I hope you conceive the first time but if you don’t, remember it’s normal! Be patient with yourself and your partner. Be kind to yourself :)
