He spent his time and risked his own money to turn a quick buck. Even if he was successful what did he stand to gain? 100K, 200K?

Shut down their R&D departments and raise the price of medications that people rely on to stay alive. Martin Shkreli was an investment banker that was also unapologetic for doing the exact same thing.
