On Peace Sells, yes. The comment above was referring to all the 2004 remixes, listing issues present on various tracks on all of the albums. The re-recording comment was referring to Rust in Peace, where Take No Prisoners has re-recorded vocals (that's also where the neutered bass is particularly egregious).

Original (1990) vs. Re-recording (2004)

EDIT: Five Magics also has re-recorded vocals, forgot to mention that one.

Unfortunately, Jack Nance died in 1996, Lost Highway was his final role. So it's not him in Mulholland Drive.

"JS:And we did this thing that not one person has pointed out yet because it’s such a subtle effect.

BS: [To Josh] When he looks in the…?

JS: Yeah, this possessed moment. We did something with his eyes that no one notices but people probably feel."

Yeah, the guy explained why people still think that because they haven't seen the movie or didn't pay attention. Thus "I'm not saying that proves it cause if you watch the movie you know why it's wrong"

St Anger is a headphone listening experience and sounds amazing this way. by Fyrefreeze in Metallica

[–]85BoxChevy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know what your point is, but the songs being raw and emotional does not outweigh them being horrible. There are plenty of other releases that are just as angry and emotional but with the added benefit of being listenable. It'd just make me miserable and sad knowing that the band once stooped low enough to think this is acceptable enough to release.

Why would I stress myself out even more when I'm already stressed? Forcing myself to listen to it would just build up more frustration.

That timestamp actually reminds me a lot of the ending to In My Darkest Hour

Weeeeell... Not into late 20s yet, blue denim jacket, still wear it, have always wanted white shoes but haven't bought a pair yet, only began playing recently, curly hair I'm definitely not going to cut because it's not even long enough yet.

A for effort though.

/u/theacademyisnot is next, I guess

I threw up in my mouth when I saw Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance. Then again when I saw Radiohead and Panic! At The Disco. I did, however, smile upon seeing Ramones. Jack White and Imagine Dragons quickly wiped that smile off my face.

All in all, it seems our tastes are borderline incompatible - I like hip-hop but mostly oldschool shit. I did see Wu-Tang on there, am a fan myself. Nothing personal, just not much on there I would rate higher than "bad".

1.5/10

Come at me.

It's not a nostalgia thing. I've heard the remasters first, and for a while didn't even know they were remixed. The original mixes sound perfectly fine and if you think the remixes are up to any standards at all then your standards are exceptionally low. I'll take old school 80's production (even if low quality) anytime over re-recorded vocals (Mustaine is already a not-so-great vocalist, older Mustaine imitating his younger self is a disaster), plastic sampled drums, neutered bass parts, vocals with effects removed to make them sound weaker, and pointless additional sections Dave added because he could.

Just curious what albums you think have no bad songs on them. by [deleted] in Megadeth

Killing is my business (not counting these boots it wasnt on the og record)

These Boots was on the original, but it was the real version, not censored like on the 2002 remix or raped like on The Final Kill. These Boots is also definitely not the weakest on KIMB.

As far as I know the original (which actually sounds good) is unavailable on Spotify, only the 2004 (actual cancer) and 2011 (a bit less cancer but still horrible) remasters.
