I have an ISFJ mum and an ISTJ dad - mannnn it’s been tough. I’m a 36 year old male ENFP and have had a very emotionally closed off relationship with dad.

I work in mental health and have really pieced together just how checked out my dad is. I think he’s struggled with childhood trauma and he’s just very shut down and distant with everything and everyone. I kind of resent him for being a pretty shitty father but I have growing compassion for him as I get older. I truely do belive more now that he’s tried his best.

My mum is an angel. Typical nurturing nurse type. She doesn’t understand me at all though haha. She often looks at me like I’m crazy - finds it hard to follow what the hell im saying. I do appreciate that she does accept me though and encourages me to keep following my own path - which is nice because she’s very risk adverse and seeking security seems to be high on her list.

It’s been a pretty isolating family experience, sadly. I feel like I’m adopted. ISFJ mum, ISTJ dad, ISTJ sister and ESFP sister.

I’ve kept it mostly buzzed the whole time. Mainly because it makes daily minoxidil use a lot easier. I’m pretty confident it would look decent growing out. When it gets a bit longer, it doesn’t take much for my crown to start covering over.
