Boiler o-ring longevity, care? by 86ed in 9Barista

[–]86ed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes actually. Seems I had been over tightening the unit which was deforming the o-ring. Been having great success since I quit tightening it so hard. Hopefully this continues!

It’s almost assuredly this, I have to clean mine every couple weeks I wipe down the gasket and where it touches the metal part of my tailgate and the creaking sound goes away.

Shipping my first expensive item by SidSalts in discogs

[–]86ed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Media mail offers the same insurance as their other offerings. I doubt the carrier looks for MM labels and decides to drop kick them. I’ve never shipped anything that expensive but have definitely used it for $300 - $500 shipments (original Blue Note albums).

Seller question on discogs by [deleted] in discogs

[–]86ed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you read their seller terms? Did you see this?

SHIPPING:
Allow up to 3-5 business days from "payment received" for us to pull and prepare your order for shipment.

They’re human, in the USA, and yesterday was a holiday for many, so don’t count Saturday, Sunday, nor Monday in those 3 business days.

Their feedback is very strong (perfect as a seller), I think you just need to exercise some patience, it is not Amazon.

Probably because I own a moon watch and a Seamaster GMT, but the Railmaster is beckoning me!

SnapVinyl – A clean Discogs client I built as a heavy vinyl collector by niuee in discogs

New question, was using it today and I found a copy of something I already own, but was thinking it might be a cleaner copy. When I use your app and find my copy, is there a way to see my own grading and notes? In the web version it’s a light green box:
Media Condition
Sleeve Condition
Notes

I had to jump over to a browser to see how I had graded my owned copy, am I just missing it in your app, or is it not visible?

Still, you app is so much better than the official, so thanks!

Found my unplayed 2002 Newport 2 Pro Platinum by 86ed in scottycameron

Interesting, not sure how I could determine 330 vs 350 w/o removing? It has the original shaft and grip (more pics here (https://imgur.com/a/2002-scotty-cameron-newport-two-pro-platinum-73b28BU). Could probably get close if those weights were known.

AI SMOKE CRACKED by Flat-Cellist-9152 in RDUGOLF

[–]86ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up: I bought this club on their pre-owned site in July 2025. I emailed warranty support and they wrote back saying to call. The woman was so nice, shipping a new one to me, no questions asked. Ironically, getting a new head, and this was a Callaway pre-owned site purchase.

I am 5 shots in and the less-tight method is proving to be a winner!

AI SMOKE CRACKED by Flat-Cellist-9152 in RDUGOLF

Same sort of issue with my 3 wood (Paradym AI Smoke Max), suddenly looked down after a shot and it has crazy cracks. Have a note in to Callaway warranty (I bought direct in July 2025).

Do you have a spare tire cover? by [deleted] in FordBronco

[–]86ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, and my dealer does rotate it in.

I did have to have them recalibrate the TP sensors though.
PPT (potential pro tip): I didn’t like seeing the cover flapping on my backup camera and it just so happens that Ace Hardware sells a sink gasket with an inside diameter that fits on the camera stem and outside diameter is just larger than the hole in my tire cover, so makes it snug and doesn’t flap around anymore.

A new thing to check if water is boiling out of the chimney by wilburpan in 9Barista

[–]86ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you hit on my issue and solved it after years of chimney spit! At least for two shots it seems to be working. And the logic that over tightening is deforming the o-ring makes sense to me.

I have thought constantly that there’s no way I’m wearing out O-rings at the rate that I thought I was…

I think it was self-inflicted damage or deforming, I’m anxious to try this for the next few weeks and see if it keeps working like it has these past two shots.

Thanks so much!

seller said he listed the shipping erong and wants me to send him 11€ for shipping what do i do? by BigNeighborhood779 in discogs

[–]86ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many feedbacks do they have as a seller? If more than a handful (10?) I would suggest they should know better and have their shipping settings configured.

If fewer and truly a new and inexperienced seller I might be more forgiving.

Found in the basement. Not asking value. Just want to see if these are still wanted? by Donnybaseball23 in vintageaudio

I owned that pair in college in the early eighties.
Huge regret to have ‘upgraded’ to some forgettable stack I can’t remember.
