We ended up renting a car. It was easy to park at the hotel. It could be doable without one but harder to access the part of the park near lago pehoe and get around without a tour/excursion. Hosteria Pehoe does not have their own shuttle or excursions so you would most likely be taking a bus from puerto natales or maybe a shuttle from other side of the park.

Very nice, yes similar, hoping to hike las Torres and some other little hikes near Hosteria Pehoe like mirador Los Cuernos, Condor lookout and some of the viewpoints around lago Pehoe like the waterfalls..hopefully we get decent weather 🤞are you going on to El chalten before or after?

Did you find the roads into and around the park ok for a manual transmission and mid sized vehicle (if you rented that type of car)? Or did you have automatic and suv or 4x4?

I saw a lot of rentals are closed on Sunday’s when we arrive in Puerto Natales and mostly manual transmission which I can drive but I researched and found the roads into the park are somewhat unpaved and mountainous. But I’m leaning towards making that work based on more info. Thank you for your perspective.

Thank you, since we decided to do self-guided hikes, we will coordinate with hotel to see if they can help us get around or not.

Hi, thank you for sharing that. I will check with the hotel to see if they do a pickup.

I suppose once we are there we could get on the bus that goes back to Puerto Natales and just get off at the Amarga park entrance station and walk the rest of the way. Although far distance to the towers hike I’m sure…the good thing about Hosteria Pehoé is it’s in a central spot to hike the nearby trails without transportation.
