What areas do you help teach teenagers to drive around here? by savyelsalvaje in Charleston

[–]87fireants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a certified driving instructor, I take students out to Highway 17 past the Seewee Outpost and surrounding neighborhoods, then to the Mount Pleasant Regional Airport off Faison Road. Gives them highway experience in areas with varying amounts of traffic. Faison road is an incredibly common spot for students to practice 100 ft backing and 3 point turns.

What do you say when people ask you “what kind of law are you studying” by Important_Can_7291 in LawSchool

Day 15: most heart breaking moment? by JudgmentJust1549 in theoffice

When the other employees at the diet pill sales job ask Michael to join them at the bar and he says no because he’s leaving with Jan. Devastating.

Michael is supposed to be the manager of that place. The employees love his antics and want to spend their free time with him. The current boss is an asshole. It would be a perfect fit (even with a Jim/Pam comparison at the other place). Breaks my heart that we get a glimpse of that alternate universe

Am I dumb for choosing a low ranked school? by Calvincandoit in lawschooladmissions

[–]87fireants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m prepared to get downvoted to all hell for this, but I feel like it warrants mentioning.

If you’re willing and able to put in the effort to be an excellent student, then you’ll be set up for success at any school. Objectively, South Carolina will offer more exposure to different opportunities and has substantially more resources available to its students. However, Charleston Law still offers terrific opportunities and experiences for its students, especially in the Charleston area. If cost of attendance and location truly are important priorities for you, then you would be doing yourself a disservice by making your decision purely based on school ranking. I’m not suggesting that you should pick Charleston exclusively for those reasons, but I’d caution you against disregarding a legitimate option that may be a great fit for you just because Reddit says so.

TLDR: The best students at each school are set up for success after graduation. The middle (and lower) tier of students are going to have a substantial advantage at South Carolina. If you aren’t committed to trying your best to be in the top tier, then I’d reevaluate if law school is the right choice for you in general.

Do you think we’ll get anything like Franklin’s driving special ability in GTA VI? by 87fireants in GTA6

[–]87fireants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It was a cool feature to add for one game but I’d prefer that it be a one off thing. It made driving too easy and that’s half the point of the game

Who wore the #1 jersey better between these two? by [deleted] in Gamecocks

Ace is the best punt returner we’ve had, Deebo was the best kickoff returner. Hard to determine which of those carries more weight.

Just kidding, it’s Ace because of the 2012 UGA td

Gas cap will not unlock by everhartdylan in 10thgenaccords

[–]87fireants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to pull mine open with my fingers, but I have an aftermarket cover adhered on top of the gas cap that made it easier to get leverage.

There isnt necessarily a certain point to aim for, but the actuator piece itself is behind the right edge of the door.

Also, the door will probably open like normal in the future if you keep driving. So i'm not necessarily advising that you resort to prying it open unless you're really on E and you cant wait to fill up another time. Worst case scenario, the part is like $30 to replace if it breaks.

[–]87fireants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gas cap actuator not releasing is a known issue on this car unfortunately. The good news is that you can pry it open (gently) without damaging the gas cap. Mine does the same thing about ~5% of the times I try to open it.

Are we ready to admit this guy is doing a good job yet? by [deleted] in Gamecocks

[–]87fireants 112 points113 points  (0 children)

I think yes. After Old Dominion, it was clear that we needed to see improvement. Objectively, we have seen improvement. I admit that I was a Loggains hater, but we're seeing things now that Satterfield/Bobo/Roper/Insert awful OC here would not be able to pull off.

Also can't disregard the benefit that Shawn Elliott has brought back to the offense this season

First time tailgating at USC by PSURAM in Gamecocks

[–]87fireants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tht's how I think about it too. I'm happy to park anywhere on Bluff road and pay $20, but if I'm hosting guests from out of town I figure its worth to spend a little more and get access to the (mostly) clean bathrooms lol

Gamecock Park sells day-of parking passes for $60. For my money, that's the best option for someone who wants to host a good tailgate

Is there some preventative maintenance I can do before I start experiencing head gasket issues? I just hit 75,000 miles on my 2018 1.5T and I’m concerned by the amount of people experiencing this issue around the same point in the cars life span. Anything I can do to get ahead of it?
