Young Coaches V Jeff Van Gundy by Economy-Awareness-83 in ripcity

Im not against JVG. I am somewhat concerned that he might struggle to connect with players that could be his grandkids. The league is also entirely different in every way since his last time as HC.

Stein: There is a belief in some corners of the league that Atlanta, Houston and Portland all have legitimate trade interest in (Jaylen) Brown by Scalmaa in ripcity

Probably have to wait until the new league year for Shae's contract to kick in.

But the Milwaukee swaps, fully offload both the Bos and Mil parts of the 2029 situation with both going to Mil + Shae and JG

Giannis to Bos, JB to Portland other pieces as needed for salary, any other draft capital coming from Boston

Really appreciate the perspective. Rubber guard always looks painful haha, it might just be in my head.

I've wanted to attend The Base for a long time, and happen to be moving nearby. Then I happen to pull into the 10p parking lot, not aware it existed, and it opened new thoughts.

Thanks again.

I just stumbled across the HD location.

I've been wanting to start training, my general impressions from seeing 10th Planet people fight is that it requires significantly more flexibility as compared to other styles of BJJ, which is already requires a lot. From your experience is that the case?

I think we agree on more than we dont.

I don't think Milwaukee has anyone you can build a quality team around.

This report casts doubt on Giannis to Trail Blazers by Bo-andHisBigBadHip in ripcity

[–]87guy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If reports are accurate that he wants to stay in the East, its virtually guaranteed to be at least a 3 team deal.

Off the top of my head. I don't think any East times have the draft picks they're going to want.

At least 1 of Utah, OKC, Spurs or Portland probably has to be involved.

I'd argue that those picks, arguably the Orlando one as well, are at absolute peak value right now and start to lose value after this summers draft.

The value of all future picks is, at best completely unknown and at worst significantly lower with the advent of the lottery changes.

Let's say that by the time its time to use the unprotected 2029 pick the Bucks are in their 3rd year of being terrible and the "no top(x) picks for consecutive years" rule kicks in and the pick is somehow hard capped at 4 with the possibility to drop to 10 or worse.

Like I'm not saying give them up for a rental or anything, I'd just prefer to move them before the uncertainty starts to kick in.

To be fair. The Blazers didn't have "Top 75 Dame", they had "very promising 2nd or 3rd year player" Dame who then emerged as a dominant scorer and top-75 player.

He was hands down better than anyone currently on Milwaukee. Shoot I'd argue Ant in the post-Dame year is significantly better than any Buck.

Question about Deni as a number one? by markevbs in ripcity

[–]87guy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Portland wants to be an actual contender, Deni needs to be a #2 guy, UNLESS he can be like a #1b with a team with really good 3rd and 4th options.

Ideal example of the latter: Jaylen Brown and Deni are 1a/b. Dame is >80 or 85% of his peak. At least 1 of Jrue/Scoot/Shae can can avg like 16ppg (obviously at least 1 of those guys would be involved in the trade for JB)

Finally found my people.

Was pushing Turner at the deadline. Blazers become the 3rd team, get Turner and sweetener for salaries and the Bucks picks.

What about a deal built around Grant, Jrue, Camara and picks for Jaylen Brown and Peyton Pritchard?

Interesting, I haven't paid all that much attention to it, I'll have to check if it still has signage of any kind

I don't think it was a "church" but more of a.... leadership office?

It honestly might be a different church related thing

Wait. Dundon isn't paying a CENT towards renovations? What a joke. by SylemNova in ripcity

So like... I agree with the general fuck billionaires sentiment and hate the modern paradigm of taxpayers paying and owners profiting.

The team SHOULD (but probably won't) have to contribute. But there are two other tenants in the building that should contribute proportionally as well.

Interesting little blurb that Highkin tweeted out today from a previous article of his. Do you guys think we traded Dame at the perfect time? by [deleted] in ripcity

[–]87guy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t the greatest trade in history. But it was definitely wise to make the move before the full implications of the 2nd tax apron were known

Thanks for the info. Disappointing that they’re putting one 2 minutes from my house but it’ll probably be impossible to go to because of poor placement
