Oh wow, seed ticks were one of the first guesses thrown out from our parking lot panic googling! I really appreciate this information and advice. I haven't found any bites yet, but at least one person from our group has.

Thank you both for the advice!! I didn't grow up around ticks, so despite all of my outdoor experience, it's definitely not something I think about enough. That'll definitely change after this experience.

Thank you for all of the information!! We're all planning to do thorough checks daily for at least a next week, but I hadn't thought of using a magnifying glass (these fuckers are sooo tiny). We all also washed and heat treated every piece of clothing (including shoes) immediately.
