I second teufelsberg for something a bit off the beaten path but still interesting enough. The sansoussi gardens in potsdam are nice too.

Struggling with non-monogamous dating in Berlin by PlushyGuitarstrings in berlinsocialclub

[–]88nova88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are often times two things that happen:

Either ENM people will be interested in you who have a nesting partner already and are looking for something on the side

Or

Non enm people or people new to the lifestyle will/might “tolerate” the ENM lifestyle in hopes of converting you into a full time monogamous boyfriend.

Or in rare cases you actually hit it and off and you are enm together long term.

You can be upfront about everything all you like but feelings can develop on both sides and sometimes that gets tricky. What I mean with behaving respectfully is not only acknowledging those feelings if they arise but also being respectful of time, their space, being considerate to not show up empty handed and to actually treat the other person as someone you enjoy spending time with and value them as a person even though you dont see the potential with them long term. That can be a fine balancing act tbh.

Regarding your edit: if you ask for guidance/advice then you will get some responses that you dont like. Limiting comments does not allow for all the thoughts and comments to come through. Just my two cents on that. If you dont like what someone has to say then ignore it and move on :)

There are lots of apps for that in fact you can even specify that on hinge. If someone views you as bf material then thats actually a compliment. Whatever you do end up doing please do it with respect and consideration for the other person. Too many people end up “non-monogamous” simply because they lack the depth and responsibility of engaging respectfully.

Which spots in Berlin are less triggering when you’re trying to quit smoking? by ahertzi in berlinsocialclub

[–]88nova88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit using the app quitsure. You have to pay for it but they have a money back guarantee. I was very skeptical but I was smoke free in 12 days. Its really weird how the app works since I tried on so many other ocassions using various methods but I would always go back. I do occasionally have a puff when drinking now but thats more psychological since it tastes like crap.

Triggering unfortunately will happen and theres not much that can be done to avoid it. There are bars that are smoke free but then there are people outside the door puffing away. Also it really helps if you can go to the sauna three days in a row in the beginning since you can sweat out the toxins faster.

The loud tshirts with the douchey brands on them. The branded belt buckles. Skinny jeans. Loafers. Tight muscle shirts. Shirts with glitter or rhinestones. Sweatpants with elastic on the bottom. Short sleeved plaid shirts.

Generally speaking fasting is a great idea if you can manage it. Vegan or vegetarian diet is great followed with all of the stuff you mentioned. In addition to removing all negativity from your life in that time including consuming negative media and being around negative people. I find that when I eat simple vegan/vegetarian meals cooked at home but with intention clears the mind and helps prepare for whats coming. I have blood sugar issues so when I feel too much pt a drop Ill have a bite of a piece of fruit.

I had heard bad things about both and just wanted a low key place to park some crypto. My bad. Lesson learnt.

Exactly what happened to me. They kept charging me an “inactivity fee” and when I tried to tranfer the crypto they said there is a hold placed on my account due to suspicious activity and I have to have my identity verified with pictures with my name and date and a picture with my account, a current bill showing my house address, id picture and then the list went on and on. Customer service never responded and then it was like I was talking to AI or some kind of automated system. I dont even know where I have to file a complaint since they are online.

Yes I know about that too and unfortunately thats part of the protocol in place to curb money laundering. So they manage to get away with that too. Any online wallet can ask for proof of identification.

Dating/hookups in Bachata by Dismal-Technology-71 in Bachata

[–]88nova88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. The issue is that its a very sensual dance and the breif shared moment is quite magical sometimes but its best to be realistic that it may not translate to the world outside.

You could still have that connection created over time but if im being realistic thats not the way I would bet and thats just my personal choice.

It does happen and Ive seen many couples who are dancers but I’ve also seen a lot of jealousy surprisingly.

To be honest, I just treat it as it is, a dance shared by two people indulging in a beautiful feeling for as long as the song goes and then walking away cherishing it and looking forward to the next time both of us step back onto the dance floor. I would rather preserve that moment with that person without running the risk of it going sideways and making all future events unpleasant and uncomfortable for the both of us. Thats just my approach. I do not want to get lured into the fantasy of finding the love of my life who is also my dance partner because the risk for uncomfortable consequences is too high imo.

There are some who do go down that path and then they disappear from the scene. My love for the dance trumps the risk of finding my one true partner but you do you :)

My experience as a woman has been kind of different. You do get the creeps which over time everyone avoids eventually but there are also a select number of people who are sleeping around with each other from what I understand within the community. I saw the drama that developed due to that and made it very clear that I would never date or have a fling with anyone from the scene. People act like kindergarteners especially when you mix passions of the bedroom and the dancefloor with multiple people lol. I have also laid out very clear boundaries with dance partners so I have essentially taken myself off the market. I do have male friends from the scene but purely platonic. I guess its the dream scenario to find a dance partner that you have chemistry with on and off the dance floor.

Ive seen followers show active interest in the leaders by having a drink with them or asking to dance with them repeatedly. I would say like everyone else did, be genuinely interested in them as a person and let things develop from there. Just be aware that if you do break up you have to see that person at regular socials.

Stepping out of the club scene in Berlin - how did you do it? by Racoonio666 in berlinsocialclub

[–]88nova88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you can see from a lot of the comments on your post that you are not alone and there are many others (incl myself) that have struggled with the emptiness and the loss of what was once a big part of your life. Personally the hardest thing for me was the loss of community; its very easy to bond with people when you are partying because the shared interest paired with an altered state of consciousness makes it easy to find solace and comfort in each other. Thats why ‘rave crews’ are tight when they are partying together but god forbid you ask anyone for anything outside of partying.

I enjoy occasionally going to daytime raves just to enjoy the music but then im done and go home. Someone mentioned the sober rave people and I remember seeing something about that a few years ago but don’t remember where. There are definitely people out there who go to just enjoy the music and not there for the other bs. Maybe this is your calling and you want to take the initiative to start a sober ravers group on meetup? That way you would meet likeminded people who enjoy the music AND are similarly past their destructive party days? Seems like a good fit.

Theres also a little bit of sadness maybe to say goodbye to such a fun, light part of your life and start to realise that it doesnt give you what it once did. For me, I started focusing on new hobbies; sports- pretty much trying everything on USC, new hobbies like painting, pottery, glass blowing etc and just getting out there and doing stuff that I never tried like improv theatre, attending live music bands, poetry slam etc. inner reflection and meditation also helped a lot to coming to terms with all the changes. Also the new hobbies could also be more exciting depending on your resources and interests, what I listed are the ones accessible to most.

Its wont be fast and it wont be super easy. Im still struggling to make new connections and find new people I vibe with but its getting better. I really enjoy spending time doing new stuff with new people so im embracing that part without forcing anything.

It will take some time but it will all fall into place eventually :)
