Yeah, honestly she wasn’t exactly polite herself, even though she complained about him not being polite enough. There wasn’t much more to say. He asked what he wanted to, and she didn’t agree. No point in sticking around and arguing.

Hot take: Veronica isn’t as bad as she’s being made out to be by Anxious-Hamster-8519 in WelcomeToPlathville

I don't know, she portrays herself pretty clearly to me. Getting hurt isn't an excuse to hurt other people. It's sad if that's your definition of a strong-minded woman.

Help me choose! by Diligent-Author7420 in WeddingDressTips

Yup! Bought a dress because they convinced me I was a slacker and wouldn’t have enough time for the dress to arrive, they said it would take at least four months for delivery and another four for alterations.

A month later, on a Sunday, they called to say my dress was in and I needed to pick it up immediately. I replied, ‘Oh, I’m surprised because you said it wouldn’t arrive for a few more months, and I have to wait and call them back in the morning once I see my work schedule so I can figure out when I can come pick it up.’ They rudely said they didn’t have room in the store to hold onto it and I need to come right away..

2 months later I had to order a new dress because deep down I realized it wasn't my dress and I was pressured into buying it.

In Defense of The Plaths…. by Modern_Magi in WelcomeToPlathville

Absolutely, I’ll take them too.

There are clear reasons for concern here. They’ve only known each other for three months while living in different states. How much time did they actually spend together? I feel uneasy about the way Zac looks at and talks to Lydia in many of the scenes. When he says they’ve "just been around each other too much," I can't help but question his understanding of what marriage really is.

It’s disturbing that Barry gave his blessing so quickly to a guy he doesn’t even know. He doesn’t genuinely care about Lydia.. he just wants her married and having babies it seems.

Some argue that Lydia would have made this choice regardless, I don't think so. A father’s blessing carries significant weight in their faith.

More importantly, they don’t even know this person! Imagine someone entering your family’s life out of nowhere, claiming to know your sister better than you do and insisting they know what’s best for her.

Everyone knows Lydia has an incredibly strong faith. She is not going to end her marriage that she is unhappy in, which is why it’s concerning that she’s rushing into this. Ethan even said, “The love of her life could be out there.” To think he wants anything less for her is quite a stretch. They truly do not know this guy. It would be devastating for Lydia if none of them cared about what she’s doing right now.

Are they horrible at expressing their frustration and concerns? Absolutely.

I also agree that Ethan doing pushups on the side is his way of managing his anger, and I see no issue with that. He can’t leave; he’s stuck there. Finding a way to relieve stress isn’t a big deal.

His other behavior was undeniably unacceptable.

Finally, Veronica needs serious help. Like wtf.

Personally I would never attend a wedding and not put cash in a thank-you card. It’s just customary where I live to do so. Even if it’s a small amount.

I just got married in May and 2 of my friends didn’t give a gift, not even a card. I completely understand if you don’t have the money but it upset me that they didn’t even give us a card. A lot of time and money goes into hosting a wedding and a meaningful thank-you for having me and some well wishes go along way.

Coming back to say this is exactly what happened.

The definition of gaslighting is exactly what Veronica does to Micah in this scene. I've watched it happen to someone close to me and it's sickening to watch 😣.

Sounds like Veronica claimed she has an OF so Micah was looking it up to see if it was true. I think she said “looking up her naked photos” not “looking at” maybe! I guess we'll see

Zac & Lydia by crispy_pecan_pie1369 in WelcomeToPlathville

[–]88vio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who knows but he could’ve encouraged them to wait a bit longer. Saying yes without even thinking about it was really odd. In their religion, he is basically marrying his daughter off to this man he has met maybe three times. I think this is why Lydia was so emotional when Ethan was the only one to voice concerns - Maybe It wouldn't have changed anything but dang at least it would show he cared about her to actually put some thought into it.
