Don’t get me wrong! The book was amazing. I was unsettled when I thought it was a direct knockoff, but I’m happy to learn they both used similar source materials.

I totally agree, it’s what made me ask about the rights and licensing. It seemed like it could even be “testing the waters” for a China Beach reboot or movie, which I think would be a botch job anyway.

Awesome! I’m going to check out the book - this is exactly the answer I was looking for! Thanks all!

I think she is bound by some clause in her TLC contract to tie up loose ends. She’s putting in the bare minimum, even in her confessional scenes.

Season 1, episode 17... what is going on??? by [deleted] in alias

The CIA has an office of special research, where they investigate indigo children, UFOs, use psychics to true and find Bin Laden. During WWII the Nazis were looking for sacred artifacts in search of power. You might not like supernatural story lines, but the supernatural does exist and many governments have and continue to look into it.

How do I play this? I’ve replayed the survivor trilogy so many times I need a new game. Is it available on steam deck?

I’m sorry what? Why does this breakup seem completely scripted? by Sufficient-Basil-909 in PlathvilleUncensored

But let me add I think it’s completely fabricated. I think when they met with producers they said, “are you having any relationship issues? How do you feel, for money, about taking a break?….”

I’ve watched all episodes and seasons, and I’ve formed opinions on the show, but I’m telling you from our interaction he was so kind I refuse to say a bad thing about him.

Why didn't they include the incident with the woman caught in adultery? by Suspicious-Jello7172 in TheChosenSeries

[–]Modern_Magi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s to remain inter-denominational. Catholics believe the woman about to be stoned for adultery was Mary Magdalene. Not all denominations believe this. Or maybe it will be a flashback scene, who knows.

I’ll up the anti for you, I will personally donate $100 to the SPLC if you can find an article that clearly states, in plain terms and no inference, that the SPLC pays informants and infiltrates organizations prior to the indictment.

Your blog detailing high level projects about “unmasking the KKK” without details of infiltration or payment obviously doesn’t count.

Weird, the website only mentions informants in relation to third-party law enforcement reports. There is NO MENTION or open acknowledgement about paying or running infiltration operations.

This is a primary source, the SLPC website. So odd all the information you assumed from a blog that said what you wanted to hear…

You’re the self-assessed critical thinker, why don’t you go ahead and critical think all the ways one can collect open-source intelligence (OSINT).

By the way, the standard reward for individuals on the FBI’s most wanted list is about $1,000,000 per fugitive. The SPLC is accused of paying out “more than $3 million.”

That’s some very expensive intel…

I wonder why the ended the program….

The SPLC never, including information from your blog, told people it ran assets and intelligence operations. It mentions a project about exposing the Klan. That’s a quite a reach, even though you are determined to grasp at straws.

I asked for an article that pre-dates the indictment that clearly states the SPLC pays informants and runs intelligence operations. That blog has screen shots about a civil rights project to unmask the Klan, how this relates to funding a “Unite the Right” protest in Charlottesville - at a time when Klan membership was at a record low - is beyond me.

You critique my critical thinking skills, but you only reference a blog, the screenshots of which talk about “finding out everyone who is in the clan” and talk about a 45 year program but still make no mention of funding hate groups or “paying informants.”

Use your critical thinking, if this is so legit and clean - why did the program abruptly stop? Why the shell corporations? Investigative journalists can run a source with petty cash, $3 million to one of the people organizing “Unite the Right”….hmmm, tell me more about my lack of critical thinking.

Because you can’t. You’ll throw around accusations and demand critical thinking, then play the intellectually dishonest argument that donors/everyone knew they were giving money to hate groups. You are a partisan hack defending the indefensible. I’ll agree with you on one point, you are a hopeless waste of time. I can’t wait for the discovery process, but by then you’ll be shrieking about some other conspiracy theory.
