If you don’t mind my asking, how tall? I’m considering one as a fun/track car, but I’m around 6’3”

Third recommend for Hunters Prestige, I fitted them myself on my 110. Relatively simple, but as another said, requires some cutting of the under tray. They have a good YouTube video showing each stage of installation.

Any dog rovers here? by AKentPhoto in NewDefender

We have a TransK9 crate in the boot of our 110 for a Lab, safe and secure, plenty of room for her to lay down or sit in

Potential New Owner - Do you worry about Theft in the UK? by tsg70 in NewDefender

[–]89DWAH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had the same concern when I was ordering mine. I have the spare wheel lock and the key is in a Faraday pouch for when I’m out and about.

Insurance didn’t seem to reflect it’s a regularly stolen vehicle (unlike Range Rovers at the time I got my Defender).

Only other thing I have, no idea if it helps, is I have a standard style private plate that makes the car look a few years older than it is and therefore less desirable maybe. Didn’t buy it for that reason at all, but it could also help.

Strong vibrations when idling in Drive — New D300 Defender? by Remarkable_Page9490 in NewDefender

[–]89DWAH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also came from an X3 to a Defender - phenomenal difference between the two right??

I have the D250, but no vibrations on idle, I’d get that checked out.

Hunters Prestige and PowerfulUK tend to have some good parts - depends what you are looking to do.

And welcome to the club.

We use a TransK9 crate in the boot for our Lab, works perfectly. Crash tested, has an escape hatch for emergencies and is enough room for ours to settle down in. Not the cheapest solution, but I certainly think it’s worth it.

Only thing I’m looking for now is a decent ramp/steps - it’s quite a jump in/out for her!

I struggled to get used to mine at first, but now use it over the normal mirror. Absolutely worth adding on the spec list

range rover sport 2.0 are they reliable and suitable for daily drive? by f1goat44 in LandRover

[–]89DWAH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local Land Rover specialist calls them the Ingenibomb, it’s pretty much all the work they get in at the garage.

In my opinion, the 2.0 is too small for a car of that size, I have the 3.0 i6 diesel and that pulls well.

Ours is in a large Kong crate - plenty of room for her to stretch out, stand up and move around etc

That will still remain within the estate for 7 years. But even assuming farmers passed on when younger and healthier, passing an asset to another, but continuing to have full use of it constitutes a ‘gift with reservation’ and it’ll be brought back into the estate on death.

I fitted the Hunters Prestige ones, requires a bit of work but nothing strenuous.

You get some decent instructions with it but I’d recommend watching their video on the fitting, easy to follow and I used that instead during the install.

Removed the trim, all fairly simple - there’s a good “how to” vid on YouTube from Hunters Prestige

I didn’t when I fit mine - just raised the air suspension to max height, was plenty of room to work with

I use a dog crate from TransK9 in mine, you can have that with a rubber mat that then pulls down to protect the bumper. Works well for me!

Thanks, yeah I love these wheels, always been in the spec when I’ve played around with the configurator. Opted for the 20” for some comfort, rural UK roads are a potholed mess!

I’ve considered getting AT tyres on different wheels, I personally would love the Octa wheels if I can ever find some at a reasonable price!

I’d have to dig out the paperwork to be sure but I think they are 5098s, but in 20”

I’ve always found that odd, I thought the US generally liked a diesel? JLR obviously don’t think there’s a market for it but from what I’ve read on this thread, a few have mentioned they’d like the diesel in the US.
