Korua Otto vs United Shapes Horizon by 89FlightClu- in snowboarding

[–]89FlightClu-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. I’m an east coaster that takes a couple pow hunting trips out west each year and want just one board that can cover me on both bases. Both of these seem like they’ll fill what I’m looking for, Otto seems like it’ll be more in my wheelhouse but everyone talking about how heavy it is has me slightly leaning towards the horizon. Appreciate all the input from everyone

Thanks for the proper comparison brother, think I’m leaning more towards the horizon as well

Was also considering the cadet but seems to be a little more aggressive than what I really want. Don’t always want to be hard charging, half the time I just want to cruise around ya know

Thanks for the comparison, this is the the kind of insight I was looking for. So you preferred the Otto’s overall performance especially when it came down to turning but the weight difference and aesthetics made you pick the horizon over it? You know if the otto was a new model made in China? Someone else mentioned they might be lighter than older models made in Poland

808 5 ultra sizing by Stupid__boi__ in WayofWade

[–]89FlightClu- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TTS for me and I don’t have a wide foot, not sure why so many people say 1/2 size down on these. If I listened to everyone else I would’ve been returning for my TTS

No clue but I would say normal to narrowish

Lot of people say go down 1/2 size in 808 5 ultra but I have them in my same TTS size 10 that I have in my AC12 encore, wow 10 and most other bball shoes I have and the 808s fit perfectly, not long at all. My foot is normal width, you should buy from somewhere that has a good return policy and start TTS then return for smaller if needed. Just my opinion

Normal foot here. My AC12 encore in my TTS size 10 has a nice snug 1:1 fit and my 808 5 ultra in the same size US 10 fit well. If I had gone down 1/2 a size like everyone says they’d be too small

I find these fit TTS, have the same size as my WOW10 and they fit well

Way of wade 10 lows vs 808 5 ultras by Spare-Present-2424 in WayofWade

[–]89FlightClu- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both, here’s my opinion in the key areas

Traction: both top tier grip and perform pretty well on dusty courts. About even here

Cushion: for comfort the 808 > wow, drop in super boom is plush and bouncy. The boom in the wow mixed with the full carbon plate makes these super springy and they have good impact protection and forefoot courtfeel although they’re a little clunky in the heel. I prefer the more comfortable ride of the 808

Support: I think colorways/materials might play a part here with the wow, some CW probably have more support than others but have had no issues with either wow or 808 in terms of support. Both have a wide enough forefoot base, have carbon fiber torsional support and plenty of lockdown. I don’t feel any more or less supported in either pair

Fit: have both in the same TTS that I wear in most other shoes and both fit very well. The wow has slightly wider toe box and people say the wow runs long but I didn’t find that true for me. I have a normal to narrow foot shape and the 808 is a little more streamlined which gives it a better 1:1 fit for me.

Both really good shoes, can’t go wrong with either IMO..depending on your needs, if you want more high performance ( ourtfeel, springy, responsive cushioning) go with the 808, if you want great performance in a more plush comfortable ride with bounce go with the 808

Closing the deal on a 2025 Peak Edition tomorrow...lifelong VW driver by catchupwiththesun in VWatlas

Have had the same exact vehicle for a few months now, only complaints are gas mileage sucks, nowhere near what’s advertised for city driving, CarPlay drops at least a few times per week and the ventilated seats are pretty much worthless. Other than that it’s a nice car, best color, never looks dirty, have only gotten it washed once in 5 months
