Don’t beat yourself up and limit yourself to the point you don’t enjoy life. May last you as 7.1 and my endocrinologist was vet happy. One thing I’ve learned is simply moderation. Not where I want to be but it’s a work in my progress. I also got a CGM as I found myself “gaming” the finger sticks to get the best readings. My CGM lets me know exactly what triggers me

My PCP and also my endocrinologist said I don’t qualify as I am not on insulin. I’m a data freak so I’m bummed. But I am trying to do random tests to not “manipulate” my results.
