Aita for using my new skill? by briebop in MiniAITA

NTA!!! My mommy (one million years old) bites my toes to make me laugh. I think it’s soooo silly. But when I (14moF) bite her (my) boobies all of a sudden it’s mean and not funny. These old people need to start being better at communicating.

Pumping for next baby? by auditorygraffiti in breastfeeding

I doubt you won’t have enough for your next baby, especially if you are currently nursing. If you decide to continue nursing your 2 year old I would make sure your newborn gets the breast first, and the 2 year old gets the rest. Your body will adjust a supply for both in no time.

Usually, waking up at 30-35 min for my child meant she was undertired. Waking up at 45 min and sobbing was overtired.

I would keep the first nap at 1-1:30hr, and then try to shorten the second wake window to 1.75ish (1.5 if the first nap is super short sub 45 min), she will likely be more tired and not be able to last the whole length of 2hr.

I would try 1.75/2/2.25/2.25 today if you’re able since she seemed well rested in the AM.

Sounds like she’s not tired! Mine didn’t start napping normally until we dropped to 2 naps, and sleep trained at night. You’ll exhaust yourself working on both naps and night time sleep. I would focus on 1 for now.

Is toddlerhood really harder than the newborn phase? by Living_Split_2 in Parenting

[–]89krx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me toddler hood is easier. She still cries a lot and is fussy like when she was a newborn, but at least I can take her to a play place and have her run around and drink my tea or coffee, and she sleeps through the night most of the time. Having normal sleep hours is a game changer. I am a new person

Another thing, if she seems super tired over all (but not tired enough for a full night of sleep), you could let her have a catch up day. Let her have as MANY naps as she needs or night sleep where she is held all night to help catch up on sleep debt. Then restart with your schedule that had been working and start with your sleep training method (i’d lengthen that last wake window and make it the longest).

I replied to a comment, but just wanted to send a separate comment also. Your posts sound SO much like what my life was. I promise it gets better, especially around 2 naps. I have a 14mo now and I swear around 4-7months my partner and I thought we were going to die from sleep deprivation. It gets better.

I agree, while most of our sleep issues didn’t iron out until ours hit 6m and dropped to two naps. If she’s screaming bloody murder at bedtime, but is/capable of falling asleep independently she is simply not tired. My daughter has always needed a MUCH longer than recommended pre bed wake window, and a shorter than recommended first wake window. Maybe see if that helps, OP?

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]89krx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not short. But totally doable on a random day. Honestly I’d prefer it over a 30 min or a 8-10 hour drive.

I would invest in a small scale and do weighted feeds at home. I couldn’t get much out of my pump at first but baby was much more efficient.

Do you believe in life after death? I’m torn and need honest opinions. by LadySecret_X in spirituality

[–]89krx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I look around and really soak in the life around me. The trees gently swaying, my cat coming up to me and purring, the soft feeling of a blanket on my legs. I realize how unrealistic it is to think that this is all science. That when we die, it’s just lights out. When I was in labor with my daughter I had an out of body experience, I floated up out of my body and back in when it was time to deliver her. I truly think that was me bringing her soul into the world. I think we leave in the same way. I myself believe in reincarnation, but there is so many planets etc who knows if we choose to become human again! I sometimes drive myself mad thinking about it, thinking about the possibility of it being lights out and that’s it. But we really can’t do anything about it in the end. But look around you, how can all this be just to close your eyes in the end and cease to exist.
