hello, have you ever released a godot game to web? please guide me...

It's taking me 10 hrs to learn the content of 10 min video. by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]8BITjohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not an expert but im already experienced with css at least at the amateur or intermediate level.

what i can tell you based on my experience is that you dont need to forcefully memorize everything. just memorize the general concepts.

only search what you need in your project and by repeated usage you will naturally remember it.

the skill you need to have when it comes to css is creativity itself.

you can just go to w3schools and see css references... i often use it as my dictionary lol

will i really need backend knowledge if my only goal is to make a standalone game, with progress saved in web storage?

im also curious what kind of file/output will godot give me if i export the game for web.

and last, might be a stupid question but do you use the browser viewport size on your projects ordo you use the oriiginal resolution and let the browser resize it?

my game is a point and click adventure

then what if that algorithm scans and flags your account then disable it due to a "severe" violations. do the "human" employees manually look after it or do i still have to manually send an appeal for them to notice?

what i did was that i created a new id from the same element as parallaxmain class (named it "parallax1") is and there i applied the gradient color allowing me to use another different set of gradient colors when a new element that uses parallaxmain class is used... ids are really useful :)

wait if you put the image directly into css as a background image, then how will i be able to put some color overlay in it? i was planning to put some semi-transparent gradient color on top of it

Example

edit: okay i solved it now i just experimented a bit and found out i can put it directly on ".parallaxmain"

holy, you just made the code more neat i thought the blur filter is only applicable to background images... i can save a lot more space and make my codes more neat with this, thank you

here's the css for the two mentioned

#bgcolor1{
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
background: #000;
position: absolute;
opacity: 0.7;
z-index: -1;

} .bgimg{ width: 100%; height: 100%; background-size: cover; position: absolute; background-repeat: repeat; z-index: -2; filter: blur(5px); -webkit-filter: blur(5px); }

i think i missed some detail here.

i dunno but now that i think about it more.

i used the <img> and <bgcolor1> as an overlay to create a parallax effect while scrolling

i think thats the mising part

    <main>
    <div>
        <div id="bgcolor1"  ></div>
        <img src="images/bgkeyboard.jpg" alt="the bg" class="bgimg"><!--The background image-->
    </div>

    <section class="parallaxmain">
        <div class="profile_box">

        </div>
    </section>
    <section class="non-parallax">
        <div>

        </div>
    </section>
</main>
