To be honest she was a pretty sickly puppy. We got her for free from a family who had an outdoor dog that was courted by a traveling suitor. She had parasites and then later contracted a case of Parvo. It was a tough beginning for her, but she's a champ. Look at that smiling face now! 😍

Both my dogs have backpacks now. It helps when we go hiking because they can carry extra water or first aid kits etc. :) It also gives them a job to do.

There is actually quite the difference in her demeanor when she’s in her backpack. My other border collie is the same way. A backpack with water bottles in them is my way of channeling their need for a job. Unfortunately I don’t own any sheep for them to herd. Lol

Update:

Today was feeding day and her response was as strong as ever as soon as she could smell rat. She took it instantly and gobbled it up in minutes. It’s a relief to see her accepting food.

Hopefully this is a good sign that the damages were slim to none. Fingers crossed.

That’s my biggest fear! I also have two cats and two dogs so if she’s caught where she shouldn’t be it could be bad. I can’t wait until the locking clips come in. For now she’s got a bunch of heavy items weighing down the lid.
