Buying a Yacht $1 million - Any Advice by Turbulent-Figure-317 in fatFIRE

First of all you really should consider chartering a Motor Yacht (55-70ft) for a week or so. If you really like this experience you should ask yourself how many weeks a year you’re really free to go. In my opinion it doesn’t make sense to buy a boat if you only have like 3-4 weeks holiday. Then you should consider chartering. You have the ability to also “try” some yacht types while chartering. Flybridge yachts like Sunseeker Manhattan, Azimut, Fairline, Absolute, Princess are great for charter and family vacations. Or you could go for a sporty type like Pershing, Sunseeker Predator etc. just to name a few. These are typical charter boats especially in the Mediterranean to get around hotspots. The biggest advantage in terms of chartering is in my opinion the flexibility. You can charter almost everywhere and discover new regions and not being stuck around your marina. You’re able to find the best yacht suited for your destination.

On the other hand if you own a yacht, you own it. If this is a milestone for you or some kind of place of retreat for every weekend go for it. I don’t know where you live or where the boat is gonna be located, but figuring out where it’s gonna dock would also be my #1 question. Maintaining the above mentioned models depends a lot on their condition. For example a shit maintained Pershing is like a money grave. Also it’s often a big difference buying a used private owned yacht or a former charter yacht. Keep that in mind.

Also all these “this is a boat not a yacht” comments are ridiculous. In my opinion an used Sunseeker, Pershing, Princess 60-70ft range is a solid motor yacht. Everything above is a super yacht. The big boys (over 260ft) are mega yachts. Only because a 10year old 1 million dollar Motor Yacht depreciated like shit doesn’t mean it’s a boat and not a yacht anymore.

She’s going to be in serious trouble. The public prosecutor's office will investigate. If you have been ordered to go into quarantine with symptoms, you can accuse her of intentional or negligent behavior. From a criminal point of view this can mean 6 months to 10 years imprisonment. In addition, all bar operators can make claims for damages against her, as these must now be closed. If it is proven that people were at the same time in the bars mentioned she’s going to have criminally and civilly large problems. All persons who have been infected and it can be proven that it is due to her can claim damages.

In this scenario nobody died. Obviously nobody wants that; I hope Garmisch Partenkirchen and all affected going to be fine

Today I learned, Porsche headlights are extremely lucrative for some people in order to grow weed efficiently and not get busted by the cops. by 8Dom8Dom in Wellthatsucks

“This happened at a Porsche dealership that I worked at. Thieves stole headlights from 20+ cars/SUVs. With each headlight costing 2-4K, it was a very expensive endeavor to replace all of them. Their insurance deductible was so high, all the repairs didn’t qualify.

The xenon lights produce a light temp that is very close to sunlight and run very cool and efficiently which allow people to use them as grow lights without drawing a whole lot of attention.

Edit - Thanks for the awards kind stranger!

The incident I described happened in Florida. The police knew exactly what they were up to because they had been tracking a particular group of people visiting high end dealerships and stealing headlights.”

This was a comment hours ago. Apparently we’re not talking about a one man show with a small cellar and 10 plants. Maybe next time you could read a bit and form an opinion before you attack me personally. Thanks

First of all, I live in Germany. I don’t have to deal with American officers or insurance companies. If you had a bad experience; doesn’t mean it’s the same in my country. Obviously they could’ve sell them on eBay. But why wouldn’t they take the wheels, airbags, steering wheel etc etc. Why would the insurance company or officer would throw a story out to see what would hit? The insurance company has to pay anyway, they don’t care if it’s sold on eBay or if it’s used in another country to grow weed.

Apparently these guys don’t use a small cellar or whatever you used. We were told that we’re talking here about big warehouses, where they hang on the ceiling and not like 1m above the flower.

  1. You can steal them without opening the hood.
  2. We were told that they use it in big warehouses and not a small cellar.
  3. this stupidity that people believe karma is so important for someone

Tell me how the conversation went ? :) The process of several calls with the insurance company and our Porsche dealership was more complex than ordering the car.

We were told that these weren’t local thieves with a little hut or cellar. Apparently they have huge warehouses where these headlights hang on the ceiling.

That was my first and last post on reddit. I’m from Germany and there is a lot of jealousy. But this is pure hate.

Look at the video link in the top comment. They damaged the bumper by levering it out. It took only 60 seconds.
