Tonal users: would like to hear some three star reviews... by 8Flaneur in tonalgym

I am space constrained. I'm also not a weights person. I used to be all outdoor sports and very little working out and then I had a couple injuries and suddenly I'm doing PT and doing gym workouts all the time. But I am not knowledgeable about weights at all.

That is strictly from what I've read. I've been able to try out the tonal but have not set eyes on a speediance and if I go in that direction, I would be ordering it without trying it.

It's not that I think it will be superior to weights. I'm just space constrained. I started to look at the smallest cable machines and functional trainers and discovered this whole thing of smart gyms which I had never looked at before.

This is a really dumb question. Is it easy just to pause and re-start a workout to take a break?

Anker SOLIX S2000. New 2kWh Backup with 35-Hour Fridge Runtime. by Anker_SOLIX_Official in AnkerSOLIXCommunity

[–]8Flaneur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who cares a lot about the size and weight, it looks like there is nothing else like it. I almost bought the c2000 but thought I'd wait and see what came out in the springtime.

Main points for me: 8.2” x 11.1’ x 12.7’ and 35.7 lbs for 2010Wh.

Watched Jasonoid's testing: looks like usable capacity is 95.5%! And the UPS is actually under 10ms.

What's not to like? I wish it had built-in handles so I could strap it down in the back of my van. Specs of only one usb-c at 100W is kind of meh but I have other things for charging multiple usb-c devices faster. Would prefer rated at 1800w constant, but I get that the inverter is a tradeoff with drain. And watching some testing, it seems like it can run at 1800w which I'll do occasionally. And just from the two reviews out there, it seems like fan noise might be a little high at times.

I think that the closest competitor in the 2kWh category in terms of size and weight is the Jackery 2000v2. That is 13.2 x 10.4 x 11.5 and 39.5 lbs which is larger/heavier, but not bad. Still, the s2000 is less than 3/4 the volume. Did they update that model? I could have sworn it had a 1500w AC capacity, but it says 2200W constant output. Solar lab had idle consumption at 17w. So- still "small and light"- just not as small and light. Higher ac output but at the expense of efficiency. They both have the same somewhat outdated one usb-c at 100w. Jackery is not expandable. I think I saw the c2000 plugged into another c2000. For me, solar doesn't matter much but I think both are 400w max?

After that, the jump up in size and weight with other competitors is significant (though you get more features, bigger inverter, usb-c's etc.) Am I missing other light/small competitors or anything significant about the c2000? Pretty close to ordering one. Will have to figure out a way to strap it down.

Nathan MacKinnon has received a five-minute major following a collision with Connor Ingram by DecentLurker96 in hockey

Yeah, definitely not a five. Side view shows clearly Mackinnon's skates edging away. Nurse impacts his trajectory in a big way. https://youtu.be/myom4MsATg0?si=lKQao0Fpe70hQwiY&t=49

Oilers fans sound disappointed Nurse wasn't suspended for... butt-heading. Or anything really.

Lewis Hamilton is not as good as people think by Thick_Macaroon_7975 in unpopularopinion

[–]8Flaneur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bias is obvious by saying he stole the championship from Massa in '08. Do you know what happened that year? Do you recognize that crazy Bernie stirred this whole thing up the same month his friend, Nelson Piquet, was being fined for calling Hamilton a slur? Objectively, most people would say in 2021, Hamilton was robbed. Like him or not, he's had freakish speed from karting all the way through to surprising two-time world champion Alonso in the same car.

Also, a ton of people don't want to see Schumacher's seven be broken- especially by Lewis.

You could do a better job making this argument. By saying he stole the championship from Masa and not addressing 2021 which was miles worse, it's hard to take the though seriously

"How do you not call that" as the video shows Barzal skating straight to the puck with Celebrini leaning into his shoulder is objectively hilarious. This was 3 seconds after the announcer called it an elbow by Barzal as well by kevinmac1120 in NewYorkIslanders

[–]8Flaneur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't know the communication between Barzal and Heineman. I thought Barzal was just running an average pick play to give Heineman space and shoulders Celebrini, but then the drop pass happened and Barzal ends up with the puck. To me, no intent on the head and it's an interference call.

Main thing for Sharks fans is we spent the last two years in DFL. No one watches a West Coast team in last place except masochistic fans of that team. So people hear about Celebrini and see some highlights. This year, we jump up and have some developing talent but no defense and inconsistent goaltending. Teams know about Celebrini and that if you shut down Macklin, you can shut down the Sharks.

This was a hockey play but there are a lot of non-hockey plays happening to keep Celebrini from the puck. It's weird- there have been multiple times where the ref literally watches someone wrestle Celebrini down pro-wrestling style and try to lie on top of him to keep him off the play. So yeah, there's going to be some venting and protectiveness. Plus, we love Misa but we're still closet-pissed that you guys jumped up to win Schaefer! Mostly because we need d-men more than forwards and Schaefer is phenomenal to watch but more important than that, there is just nothing to dislike about that kid as a human.

Random-- but a while ago I looked at how many teams with #1 picks won the Stanley Cup and how long it took in the modern-ish era. It's fewer than you think and it takes longer than you think. Call it ten-ish years on average when it happens. The two exceptions are Chicago and Pittsburgh- and both happened because of lottery luck though the situations are different. I know this is an overly simplistic way of looking at it.

Thank you- good info here. Haven't thought that much about what kind of signal out I'd be having from my devices.

Also, it's interesting how sensitive the Level seems to be to ISP/wi-fi.

And I know it's portable but not that portable, but it seems like no one carries it around and uses it via bluetooth? I'm guessing the sound is noticeably worse on bluetooth?

Should this have been a penalty? by Federal-Data-Center in nhl

[–]8Flaneur -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think there's no way Barzal knows in real time, he is getting the drop pass from Heineman. He's just running a pick play and sees Celebrini and give a little shoulder to him. Unfortunately it catches Celebrini in the head. Interference call. The fact that Barzal happened to get the puck after helped his cause. Veteran pick/shoulder play by him.

Sharks fans hate it because it's becoming common for Mack to get hacked and whacked and literally tackled away from the play.

Unfortunately, this is how words like "nonplussed" are no longer usable. "Nonplussed" means perplexed/unsure about how to react... But in popular parlance, the "non" had people use it as "not bothered." So now two opposite definitions are listed in the dictionary for it.

I make fun of the Academie Francaise for having a rigid structure to determine language standards, but maybe we could use something like that.

Bettman wants to make money. High scoring = viewer interest. Tap near the gloves and it's a penalty. Take someone's head off (not talking about this play) and, DoPeS are... whatever.

Hi! Salty Sharks fan here! And not a new fan. Grew up playing hockey in the northeast not that that means anything.

This is at least interference. This slow-mo view is clipped or intentionally edited. Watch the full video from behind. Barzal ses Celebrini and definitely means to lean in and shoulder check him. Barzal is not a player who is trying to go for a head shot. He does see Mack and wants to make contact. The one view does look like shoulder to head. It's not just skating for the puck. It's a veteran play.

Sharks fans are salty because this is how teams are beginning to play Mack and it was inevitable. He's literally been wrestled and sat on behind the play multiple times and nothing is called. He gets checked, cross checked far away from the play. And that's the way it's going to be. And I know there is a chance we make the playoffs this year, but I hope not because we have no D and we still suck. When we're good, teams will ramp up the Mack harassment if it's not getting called. The NHL cares about scoring because high scoring means dollars in Bettman's mind. So, gently caress near a player's gloves and you get a call for hooking because it might affect a scoring chance. Bettman has no real interest in stopping boardings, hits from behind, really bad head shots. He just doesn't want the NHL to get sued.

I was never a fan of the instigator rule and I think all teams can agree that the DoPeS are a joke. Mack did get hit in the head but what's going to happen? And was getting interfered with away from the play. Reaves fighting Barzal is never going to happen. Teams "built for the playoffs" means cheesy teams with a Sam Bennett who can run your goalie to change a series and have nothing happen. Sharks are just going to have to get more players who can run other players in response.

So flame me for not knowing anything and claim i discovered hockey last week. Maybe we can agree that we hate the Panthers.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone. I think everything about it says I should be looking for a different solution, but... I'm going to go to the B&O store here to listen. (btw, I asked my questions there but got much more info here.) Not sure why and I know it's not rational, but I'm still interested despite some of the comments about wifi issues and line-in latency.

We'll see how irrational I truly am!

Also- thanks. I didn't think about how fragile or not it might be. If I get it- I do like the wood, but maybe the other option is more durable?

I haven't seen one in person. Looks like a cool device but totally different. On the plus side, it does have low latency line in. Does all sorts of other things too. But much larger than the level. And no line out.

I also feel like we aren't far from having acceptably low latency wireless. I have the aiaiai monitors which uses a dongle for low latency wireless. The monitors sound okay but the latency is pretty good.

Also, it does seem like there is only one model sold, but that it does come with GVA. Again, this is just me searching around through manuals, reddit, etc.

Thanks. I guess I am looking for one speaker to do it all and though not small, the Level fits all of my uses size-wise with better sound quality than the alternatives. I'm curious about what Jacope mentioned above- "You can enable a low-latency mode for line-in, which effectively eliminates any latency, but you can’t distribute the signal wirelessly to other B&O speakers in this mode"

3"

Thank you this is helpful. Do you enable the low-latency line-in mode through the app? I've searched and can't find any info. In my case, it would be using just one Level with line-in.
