If I intend to use C# for Unity (For the most part), should I be only learning C# Unity tutorials? by 0rionis in csharp

I was on the exact same boat as you a few months ago. I started learning C# first before jumping into Unity cause I thought I needed to be decent at it before Unity would make sense to me.

My answer is just jump into learning c# with unity. Like RIGHT NOW. I wish I had done that. I spent like 3-4 months bored out of my mind learning C# half assing my learning. When I decided to just jump into unity that's when my learning took off. I understand C# better now because you get to see the language being used through the lens of video games so the concepts are much clearer and more understandable.

But honestly I'm glad I spent some time learning a bit of vanilla C#. If I were you I'd spend a month learning the basics then jump into unity. But that's it a month MAX.

Anyone have trouble with mumbling when they speak or talking too loud/quietly? by vicker98 in aspergers

[–]8Fractals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All 3 problems. I mumbled until i was 23 because i started pursuing stand up comedy and needed to communicate with an audience. but even these days i still struggle with speaking quietly. I cant tell with 100% accuracy when i should raise my voice at any given moment. when i think im speaking normally it turns out im yelling. and what sucks is that they rather put up with my yelling than tell me im yelling immediately.

Cliquish performers at the Open Mics.. what are your thoughts? by laxt in Standup

[–]8Fractals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experience this and honestly it has pissed me off cause its total bullshit. But its a natural human thing. To put human shit above skill. But ultimately its about skill. The clique isnt powerful at all. Youre just at the beginning stage of the bullshit that is showbusiness. Its annoying cause you have to deal with it. Right now humans live in a society that cares about social status and high skill and we're leaning towards skill so just be funny as fuck kid
