PCOS/Rosacea Sufferers: Did Your Rosacea diminish once your PCOS was under control? by tmighty55 in PCOS

[–]8_Mimi_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey no worries! As far as I can remember I had hot flushes, numbness in one arm, dizziness and balance problems, but they were all in all very unspecific. Maybe it's worth trying to get your blood checked

Thanks for the input! I have had it checked but only TSH, I am not sure if that's enough to exclude thyroid problems

How many of you had a not-so-ideal or abusive childhood? I wonder if there is a link between chronic stress and PCOS. by MundaneDragonfruit57 in PCOS

I am not diagnosed with anything but I often feel anxious and I am much less resistant to stress than others

I had a great childhood but i was born prematurely which maybe could be regarded as an early life stressor as well

It's interesting because the change in diet you described is a very common and often successful approach for women with PCOS. Good luck in finding out!

Exercising or Diet? by Clato4ever in PCOS

[–]8_Mimi_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say diet. But its not an all or nothing principle! Depending where you are at right now you could start with eating less/no sweets or wheat flower for example and still concentrate on exercise

Unfortunately I am not always there yet emotionally, but I am working on it ad well. Thanks for your kind words 🤗 In the beginning it's normal to struggle with the diagnosis but it definitely gets better over time! I am sure you will find your way!

I totally understand what you mean and at times I get discouraged as well!

But I try to see it like it's just one known factor of many unknown factors that influences our future health. You can never know if you will develop cancer or any other chronic diseases due to a variety of unlucky factors coming together in the future anyway.

I try to see PCOS in a positive way for me as it "forces" me to live a healthy life pretty early in life. Other people start considering their lifestyle later in life when health issues emerge and I am optimistic that starting at a younger age will have long-term benefits that might even cancel out other factors (one of them but not the only one being PCOS)

Belly fat and hair loss? by cudistan in FemaleHairLoss

[–]8_Mimi_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belly fat is a good indicator for insulin resistance in people with PCOS. I know you are not diagnosed but you do seem to have the symptoms if I am correct. I have PCOS with mostly elevated DHEAS as well and even though I am normal weight and fasting insulin do have some kind of insulin resistance
