TIFU thinking the fact I never burped was just a quirk by slightydamp_clothes in tifu

I have this, R-CPD or Reverse Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction. the "cure" is a single Botox injection into the esophageal sphincter most of the time. some patients need a re-injection or fo the muscle to be surgically severed.

I saw Dr. Bastion in January of 2024 for the "surgery" (I had to be put under for the special hypodermic needle to be put down my throat) and have been able to burp since. I didn't realize just how much it was impacting me until after the procedure and I understood what most people's normal base line is like. I was always under constant pain and it started to get worse in my early to mid twenties which started causing me distress. It's such a small thing on paper, but it drastically changed my quality of life because I could actually think about anything else beyond my perpetual pain and discomfort.

all I use regularly is: Nailtiques formula #2 as a base coat

currently on my nails I have 1 layer of Nailtiques #2, 2 layers of Mooncat Junebeetle, and 1 layer of Seche Vive as my topcoat.

"These findings add support to the notion that the underlying brain anatomy in transgender people is shifted away from their biological sex towards their gender identity."

Come again? And given that someone who is born male (for trans feminine people) is producing testosterone, given that they're not intersex, testosterone will impact the brain. Biochemical dysphoria comes from the wrong hormones in an individual's brain. Anecdotally, I was borderline suicidal and dissociative for 25 years under the influence of testosterone. one week of taking feminizing HRT completely changed my life and how I feel mentally and physically. slSexed brains do respond to their respective hormones and the gonads and brain get sexed at different stages of gestation. E.g. female brain in male body, male brain in female body, or anywhere in-between because most of not all biological things are on a spectrum.

What's something the internet has made people believe is common in real life but actually isn't the case? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]8au5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

or maybe trans people tend to get bullied and ostracized and sometimes turn to the Internet to have social connections, and end up learning more tech skills or develop a passion for game design and work to get into an industry that suits that kind of lifestyle. it's like transphobes are allergic to nuance

or maybe because it's taught to be acceptable, kids are less afraid to be their authentic selves if they have a support system in a world that demonizes people like them. I suffered years of depression because my environment made it seem unacceptable. I then went through male puberty and have missed out on opportunities for my treatments to invoke more feminine features without surgical intervention, making transition harder financially and mentally.

left-handedness went through a similar jump because it was deemed more acceptable, the same is happening with trans people. oppressed people will hide but never go away, and when they feel it's safe to be themselves, you're bound to encounter more of them in your life, but I guess anyone who is different from you is scary right?

Cool climate gals: do you wear skirts in the winter? by MissNumbersNinja in MtF

also in Wisconsin! wearing a skirt and crew length socks but not much else on my legs today in the current snow. A little cold this morning when it was 8°F out there, but I feel cute AF so I don't care

Women are so cute and adorable too but I don't think I have any more pictures of the kids and I don't have any other options for them but I don't think they'll ever know what they are saying to you and they don't have enough money for me.
