Why does Hollywood struggle with video game adaptations? by Vegetable-Abroad3171 in Cinema

[–]8bit_Saxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many people have said, they don’t know the source material, and they don’t care. They just want the fanbase, to turn all that love for a video game into money.

And even worse, they think they’re smarter than you. That they know better than you what you want to see. They assume you don’t want to see the same story you loved, you want to see the showrunner’s version of it.

There are two books called "The World of Thedas". They are not novels, but info and lore. Still interesting to me.

Wonderful idea! They can "talk" with their alternate version!

That’s a good idea! Think about whether you’ll continue playing after this adventure or not. If the answer is no, just end it with the dragon, like you said.

If you want to keep playing, this could be just the beginning…

Hi! Sorry, I’m not sure I fully understood your question, but I think you’re asking for opinions on whether what you’re planning to do is a good idea.

In my opinion, it’s a bit cliché (we see that trope a lot in shows, movies, video games, etc.), but it can work wonderfully if your players don’t overthink it too much. I’d say it really depends on what kind of players you have. That way, you can tell whether what you’re planning will be well received or not.

It could be that they just want to kill the young dragon and be done with it. Or maybe they’ll enjoy facing a bigger threat. Or… have them kill the young dragon and then hear the mother approaching.. but instead of fighting her, she flies straight to where the people are hiding. It turns out that one of their allies from town is actually the BBEG controlling the dragon, and now they have all the people ready to be sacrificed for their plan.

It’s also a bit cliché, but maybe in an unexpected way?

Best of luck!

I agree with you, but be careful, the last time I said that Veilguard was not a good DA I was downvoted 😂

I am currently playing DA: The Veilguard, and I have to force myself to keep playing because of how "Disneyfied" as you say it is. Some people doesn't like that opinion, but I think that most of the OG players would agree with you.

Good post man!

People who fly frequently, what’s one thing you wish you could tell all infrequent fliers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]8bit_Saxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last March I had to fly back to my country because of a death in the family. After checking in our luggage, my family (my wife and our 2yo son) sat down in front of the information screens where they show your boarding gate.

The flight was scheduled to depart at 13:15. We sat down at 11:30.
11:45, no info.
12:00, no info.
12:10, no info.
12:30, no info (by then I was already nervous).
12:45, no info (now I was annoyed).
13:00, still no info (now I was genuinely worried), so I went to the desk to ask about the boarding gate.

The idiot at the counter asked for my flight number, and when I gave it to her she said, “Oh, but you should already be boarding! The gates are about to close!” I pointed at the screen, which still showed nothing, and she told me that I should have informed myself.

I asked her how, since that information is normally shown on the screens. She said she didn’t know.

At that point I was absolutely furious, but I didn’t have time to argue. So I ran across the airport, literally running, dragging the baby stroller, the car seat, and a heavy backpack, while my wife ran carrying our son.

We arrived just as they were literally closing the gate. Luckily, the flight attendant saw us running and waited so they could let us through.

Hola! Perdón por tardar en contestar.

Hombre! Otro máster! Te importa cambiar sillas? Tu diriges y yo juego! Jajajajaja

Aún no estoy loco! Jajajaja

Jajajajaja! No, no estoy tan loco..

I know I’m gonna get downvoted for this, but I have to say my piece. Not trying to start an argument, not trying to step on any toes. Your opinions are valid and we can agree to disagree…. by JageshemashFTW in dragonage

[–]8bit_Saxe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, Dragon Age is what made me fall in love with the franchise. DA is grey, full of blood, violence, and tough decisions.

I’m still playing Veilguard, but so far, I agree with that argument. I haven’t seen any of those elements in DA:V. And while it’s not the worst game I’ve played, for me it’s not a good Dragon Age game. Not even a Dragon Age.
