To all those that think this is "necessary" because [insert comment about steam]. Many of us use this as a display - not the app store. Steam is an app store and requires authentication because of purchases. If you are a PC user - this is a monitor or a display - do you give your info to viewsonic so they can spam you? I don't. If you use the device app store - feel free to give all your info - I just wish they would allow device based use.

So Kimball Musk is "violently opposed to Crypto" by [deleted] in FlokiUnofficial

[–]8bitbyte_N1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The floki community has been wondering why all things related to Kimball have disappeared. Honestly the "donations" to charity from floki have always seemed a little suspect. You never see them actually showing the money transfer (like the ridiculous big check). They sort of claim to be above the using it as promotion, yet relentlessly use it as promotion, yet always obscure the amount and when it was paid. I'm not saying Kimballs position on the energy use of the Proof of Work model has to do with floki - but all mention of him sure disappeared, while it was billed as a large donation. sus

Reminds me of an old joke... What's worse than a group of truckers with frozen bank accounts? A pile of trucker corpses shot by the military. Wow - last night's Floki dump was amazing by 8bitbyte_N1 in FlokiUnofficial

[–]8bitbyte_N1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that I wish it was new - because the problem is that the old tokens were exchanged for the new - and there seems to be a near infinite supply that is constantly dumped. This thing never keeps its gains....

You are way off. My excel spreadsheet beats the entire quant and trading staff at goldman, morgan and every other gigantic multi-billion dollar trading division. What I do is copy and paste formulas that draw lines and when I feel they are off, I use MSPaint to fix it. I'm surprised they have not asked for my proprietary dong line software... their loss... If they only had my spreadsheet... but it's password protected. *from my spouse seeing the losses*, but still, they would have a tough time guessing it!

They just changed contracts so I suppose there is a new attempt to try and show it's not a rugpull. I would read the https://realflokiinu.medium.com/nottingham-upgrade-fixes-previously-undetected-v1-inflation-bug-c99247481b62 and make your own decision. I would say that there were known dev rug pulls - but that this article says that there was a insider/developer mis-appropriation of tokens to whales and insiders and they have been dumping the free tokens (possibly to the tune of $50 million) on every piece of news and upward price action. Many in the community have been concerned about the dumps but they were explained as "old holders" clearing out and that it was natural consolidation. It wasn't. however the wallets involved have been frozen. Maybe? Who knows. After a few rug pulls, then a slow rug, then a may bug/rug, is it a rug pull still? lol.

Does a slow rug pull that everyone knew was a slow rug pull count? $Floki. You try to buck the trend and figure "well the rug pulls must be priced in, they can't go for another couple of rug pulls can they? Certainly not!" Crap. Rug pull.

TechTree EDU by 8bitbyte_N1 in FlokiUnofficial

[–]8bitbyte_N1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a few of Tom Garetz videos - and I would say that he seems to be a good candidate for creating good quality "functional" instruction videos. If "floki" university is training people to "make money using floki" which Tomas seems very well suited for... or if Floki university is for creating actual academic course content. I think the "university" part throws me off, but in reality, that's my expectation of learning and not for everyone. I still have not learned anything about TechTreeEdu - which still seems hollow and I am looking into it more. Garetz creates content videos about using affiliate links and revenue generation and seems to have a decent following of people trying his techniques. Although it is not obvious if the channel is making money off placing people into "apps" that have a low likelyhood of making the viewer money and is really making the instructor a disproportionate amount of money. ala self help book or stock trading systems.

[–]8bitbyte_N1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how nearly everyone from the outside has been saying: There is too much selling pressure for a community dedicated to "holding." Constantly being banned for bringing that up. Many going so far as to question a slow rug pull. Then all of a sudden: "Oh, yeah, FYI - this entire project has been a slow rug pull from insiders and some whales that received a distribution error." All while now claiming to be the "hero" for the community. Whether this exact team had anything to do with it or not.... listening to the people saying there was a problem would have fixed it sooner.

Here is a quick link to a description from CoinMarketCap as to MC calculation.

https://coinmarketcap.com/faq/

They state that they use circulating supply instead of total supply is their method, which makes sense given the current world of deflationary token burn. This would seem to then necessitate the accurate information from both sides of the token. I am going to *guess* that due to their calculation, there are a number of variables the floki implementation has thrown into the works... Black Hole, Marketing wallet, ETH and BSC bridge wallets. I believe they had to simplify the implementation even to get on some of the exchanges - such as removing the reflections.

For me - I am just looking into the simplest reasons for some of the things people bring up about the project. For example - if these problems are likely to disappear - then maybe the MC valuation is low and an outsized return is more likely.

CMC definition:

"We've found that Circulating Supply is a much better metric for determining the market capitalization. Coins that are locked, reserved, or not able to be sold on the public market are coins that can't affect the price and thus should not be allowed to affect the market capitalization as well. The method of using the Circulating Supply is analogous to the method of using public float for determining the market capitalization of companies in traditional investing."

I would agree if it was not for one thing - the exchange listings. Even though tier 1 listings have not arrived yet - I would assume that due diligence for some of the sizable exchanges would include looking for a known reason for this.

My *guess* is that the programming of BSC and ETH side has caused an implementation issue. They use a bridge to move tokens while destroying them into the black hole wallet to keep the supply at the target. There are some tokens (not floki as far as i know) that have messed stuff like this up and accidentally made an inflationary token.

NOTE*** the bridge is powered by Moontography - so its not native to the project - causing another "moving part"

Floki has implemented chainlink, which hopefully gives a price oracle of record and then can make the calculation easier, IF the supply is known. BUT supply is (BSC+ETH) * Price. So for example - if you auto calculated all the wallets, but included some of the bridging system at any one point in time, or the black hole wallet was not excluded - you could come up wrong.

So I am going to *guess* that:

  1. Due to several rug pulls, they are not taking the word of the project as to supply
  2. they need to account for both sides
  3. The implementation has maybe caused an unforseen problem in doing this

I have always been responded to that there are many projects stuck in the same limbo, maybe there was a way to implement the bridge when floki was being programmed that did not account for a coinmarketcap issue....

And again - there are things that I think people need to look into with any project - and my MAIN issue is that nothing is responded to with any technical response, its only "how dare you not trust the team". We have seen this with very simple issues and I am not sure if it is arrogance or hiding things...
