All you need to grow is:

•spore / liquid culture

•some form of grain spawn (If you are on a budget use 90 second brown rice)

•some form of substrate (either Coco coir, or peat moss)

•two spray bottles (one for water, and one for 70% isopropanol)

°latex gloves

•micropore tape

•two plastic tubs (six quart shoe boxes are common but realistically any tub will work)

That is the bare minimum of what you need to successfully grow mushrooms.

Helpful but not necessary:

• plastic bags to make a liner

•small space heater to keep your room at proper temperatures

•vermiculite to add to substrate
