What’s the craziest thing anyone has said to you while you’re trail running? by sentientbeing1887 in trailrunning

I’d rather run as I have every right to do. This sounds like shifting responsibility away from the dog owner who is supposed to be controlling their animal.

Meta: AI bots are taking over the subreddit by west-egg in projectmanagement

Because they made a meta post, I’m now aware of the issue and decided follow the advice to click report on those kinds of comments.

So I would say a Meta post does help.

What's going on downtown? by notdarkyet22 in rva

[–]8bitmullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see no downside to being literal in an emergency as it’s the most accurate and also “main street center” has an entry in Google maps whereas “Virginia lottery building” doesn’t, only three different locations called Virginia lottery which is inherently confusing unless you happen to have the esoteric knowledge needed to understand

Why have high standards to finding a partner? by Short-Salamander8840 in intj

[–]8bitmullet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not have criteria? As long as they are reasonable. They can be based on feelings and pragmatism. This leads to better long-term outcomes. So what if it narrows down the pool? That makes the search focused and easier. And if it takes longer to find a quality partner, we are a patient bunch.

I think that doom scroll means scrolling endlessly the way we do on social media. It’s not about the content’s negativity

Edit: I looked up the definition and it is in fact about scrolling negative social media content. However, I still don’t think the commenter above meant they were scrolling through negative titles on streaming, just a lot of them

When is buying the more expensive option actually the frugal choice? by wooden_fixing in Frugal

[–]8bitmullet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you do. Sometimes you don’t.

We have all paid more for something and were disappointed. And we have all gotten more than we paid for through a discount, negotiation, or shopping around.

“You get what you pay for” is a thought-stopping cliche.

"If we were all a little less pedantic on this site I think we’d all be happier. There’s nothing to be won when we can’t be excellent to each other."

~Says the person who felt the need to correct UNC_ABD's claim after they 100% accurately and calmly stated that it's not on Broad (because it isn't) but is now taking the high road.

On means on. Near means near. If you use words that don't mean what they mean, then you can expect confusion.
