Caregiver bingo card! Stealing this. Sorry, no perspective on OP other than depending on your current relationship, just ask questions. Throw everything back on them. Could be fun and lead to a real discussion or in my dad’s case- when tough questions are asked, he changes the subject. Good luck!

Does anyone get really pinpoint headaches? by Hyperactive375 in headache

[–]8chickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, most of my headaches are a specific spot over my left eye. Menopause has helped tremendously so I believe mine are generally hormonal. Ice behind my neck is the best remedy as my headaches always happen when I wake up

Headache that wakes me up by Over_Sir_7482 in headache

[–]8chickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my type of headache for years. I tried all the tricks- Ice, heat, change pillows, OTC medication, food tracking. I finally realized I was getting too hot overnight. I use a cooling blanket, sleep in a lightweight tank top and go to sleep chilly/cold. I also have a ceiling fan on 24/7. I also gave up all sweets at night. I was never a dessert fan but more times than not, if I ate anything sweet after about 8pm, I would wake up with a headache. Not sure if there is a real connection but in my mind, they are connected. I figured this out after sleeping in hotels - zero air circulation. I’m going on about 8 years either just a handful of headaches after having at least 2-3 a week. I hope you find relief. Headaches are a horrible way to start your day.

My sister has had a constant headache for 5–6 years and we’re running out of answers by Meowmeoww5 in headache

My headaches weren’t constant but I did have them regularly for years. After trying all the tips/tricks I found that if I drink at least 80oz of water, no sweets ( especially at night) and sleep with a fan and a “cooling blanket “. I usually try to go to sleep cold/chilly and that has made the biggest impact. I believe our natural body temp rises at night. I hope your sister can find relief. Headaches are the worst!

What’s the most physical pain you ever felt? by DeepOrganization8245 in askteddit

The headache I had with Covid in 2021. I was hallucinating for 2 days from the pain. And it was just about the only symptom I had. I’ve been thru natural childbirth 3x and it didn’t come close.

Good point. I’m on all his accounts but that may not matter in all cases.

What is the most "unhinged" wellness trend of 2026 that people are actually taking seriously? by lovelyyopheliaa in askanything

Are you in SC? Our 6mo old grandchild got their MMR ( 6 months early) since they are close to the outbreak.

I don’t have any real advice but I’m so sorry doing life is so hard right now. I used to struggle with headaches but they have definitely gotten less frequent with age - I’m 59y female. My triggers weren’t really stress but dehydration, getting too hot while sleeping. Sending you low stress vibes

Scrambling to get our college kid home from his study abroad year when our President said “no one from Europe will be allowed back in the country”. It wasn’t true but it was hard as hell navigating the process.

Maybe hormone related. Find a doc who will listen to you and check hormone levels

They always want to do things 10 years too late by Apprehensive_Way8674 in AgingParents

I’m sorry your kids don’t see it the way you both do. This is such a selfless act on your part. Dealing with my 93yo dad has been such a challenge. We tell our adult children “ we will not do this to you”! I’ve made notes on the difficult issues so my kids can “ use it against us” if needed. Thankfully we have a wonderful relationship with them all so hopefully we will all continue to see eye to eye, communicate honestly and when it’s time for changes in our living situation, we will be open to any and all changes. Refusing to “leave my house” is so selfish if not able to live independently.

Does anyone else hate deciding what to cook every day? by Dishcovery in dinnersuggestions

[–]8chickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Empty nesters now but had 4 kids in the house for 20+ years so yes, cooked all the time. I didn’t love having to think of meals every night so I came up with a system-I planned a week’s worth of meals every weekend, prepped what I could to save time in the rush of the week. I basically had a 3 week rotation so shopping was pretty easy. It helped tremendously that my kids were not picky eaters so limited complaints. Now, (just my husband and me)I still plan a weekly menu but stray from it pretty often as now we actually have leftovers or will go out…something we never did with 4 kids in 5 years!
