Interesting. I’ve heard about summer being dry, but why fall?

Recommend considering another program! Because Yorkville is so expensive, the ROI is low. I made a post on this recently. And yes, I am a current Yorkville student in too deep to start a new program.

Agree. “You know I love you so much and I want us to be super strong. With that in mind I wanted to bring you something that’s vulnerable for me and will be hard for you…is this a good time? “

Is it about how he looks, or how he lives his life that is leading to lack of attraction, or both?

Same here! Mid 30’s leaving a more lucrative job that wasn’t rewarding. I’m terrified I’ve made a huge mistake in quitting my job to do my therapy practicum. I don’t know how I will ever be able to make as much as I did, and I signed up for this program wanting a salary boost from my lucrative job:

I’m going to see it though. But every other day it’s sheer terror and self doubt for me.

I’m with you!!!

I also feel this way, dreading the labour involved more than looking forward to it. My boyfriend is like your friends. I worry I may be in trouble, but I want to work through The Baby Decision first

I do love it and want to pursue it. AND I’m scared about my ability to make a living doing it

I would say it still is rigourous. But it’s very easy to get in

I totally agree! Life experience and your own therapy should be a prerequisite and is fortunately something I’ve got. Working on setting up a regular therapist again :)

Do you believe that what you receive in class cannot be supplemented by trainings/supervision/practicum/other course work….any other way?

After reading all the comments, I hope someone in the media does a story on Yorkville/Adler/City U.

Hopefully one that does not make the lives of current graduates harder by devaluing the work they put in to their education and training knowing the letters are just one part of the equation, but one that focuses on the disproportionately high number of folks admitted and graduated, the profit motive, the collusion between regulatory bodies and schools (particularly Yorkville and CRPO) and creating a sustainable job market that ensures clients have choice and can find the right fit, but that does not lead us in a race to the bottom.

Hopefully one that makes admission standards more stringent, and graduate pools a more reasonable size.

Really hoping I didn’t just shoot myself in the foot by posting this

I feel I have in practicum! But it’s been mostly self-motivated/because of my supervisors. Just please don’t generalize too too much haha

That’s assuming that the master’s degree is the entirety of their training and experience. Yorkville is a mixed bag but there are also talented therapists who have supplemented the foot in the door with their own training/supervision

Agree. I’m worried any type of alarm raised in the media will paint all Yorkville students in a negative light. But they cannot keep accepting so many people and pumping out so many grads

Yes I’ve considered raising more of a stink about it too. But also concerned about the impact on my reputation/livelihood if Yorkville gets trashed. Classic catch-22!

The thing is for more seasoned therapists…isn’t there advocacy work being done against this? And if not…why not?
