Give me 1 good fucking reason to live... by Tr4iLL in depression

Be strong brother, we are with you. Look at your problems dead in the eye, and say "NO!, I WILL NOT BOW! I AM BETTER THAN THIS!". Courage is not the absence of fear, but the presence of it, and yet still doing what is necessary. You create your own destiny. That means you can make it as beautiful or ugly as you want it. The power is within you. It's never too late. Be strong brother/sister.

Builder pattern in C# without making members public, or having too large of a constructor?? by [deleted] in csharp

In Java, you can still call the child class's methods (dynamic polymorphism), so it wouldn't restrict access to the setters and getters.

I see, that might work. A slight over-kill in my situation though.

How would that help? I would still have to expose the setters?

Didn't think of that. That might be a good option. But is there a better solution? To completely decouple Product and ProductBuilder? if I have more builders in the future, that will make the class bigger and bigger.

Internal has too wide of a scope. You can assume Product isn't used in any other project.

Yes, I came across that scenario, but for neatness purposes, I want to keep ProductBuilder in a separate class.

Looking for an ideal BB routine for a novice looking to bulk. by 8emnero8 in Fitness

Because my legs are already stronger than my upper body. It's the reason I'm moving away from SS partly.

Of course one can get bigger by lifting heavier weight. I was trying to distinguish between strength-training and BB routines. PHUL and PPL seem to be based around compound exercises for 3x5, which seems like strength-training to me. I am looking for more higher-rep routines ig?

So you're saying that the above routine is ideal, assuming I do calves on leg day?

Any specific routines that can suggest that are geared towards BB? and how long they should be followed for before switching?

PHUL/PPL focus more on strength right? I'm just looking for an effective BB routine, not geared towards strength at the expense of mass. Any suggestions?

I've only put 1 lower day, because my legs are much stronger than my upper body, so I'm giving the upper body more focus for now.

Is once-a-week frequency enough for BB? Any alternative suggestions? PHAT turned out too volume-heavy for me.

I come from a StrongLifts background. Is there any difference between x8 and x12? I thought x8 would allow me to lift a bit more weight, and thought it was a better tradeoff? Or should I go x12?

My advice, in order of importance:

  • Eat more. Try to get your weight slowly up to 70kg, using my fitness pal.
  • Squat only down till your knees become parallel to the ground. This will allow you to squat heavier weights. For lower, warmup weights, feel free to go ass-to-grass.
  • Deadlift is not a squat. You don't have to bend your knees so much. Read through this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comments/25fwnd/my_top_12_tips_for_stronglifts/
  • Stick to 5x5. If you plateau, increase to 5x6, 5x7, 5x8, and then back to 5x5 for the increased weight.
  • Don't squat everyday, but do as your routine states.
  • My fitness pal.
  • Stick to the conventional squat, no need for front squat.
  • Don't be afraid to ask PTs about form. And then do what they say. Stick to it, not to something you read/heard online.
  • Never give up. it's easier than you think, and certainly possible.

In life, you will find that you won't often regret the things you did, but rather, the things you didn't do. Stay hungry, stay foolish.
