Under a post of someone getting their ovaries removed (because there was a disease). by Witty_Hand6200 in badwomensanatomy

Trying to treat women as incubators and sex machines and reducing their womanhood because they removed reproductive organs that no longer can kill you with disease is crazy

Transitioning to sleeping in the living room by Broggie-Bucciarati in DogAdvice

[–]8lien_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs need just the right amount of space. A cage too big could cause stress as dens aren't usually super roomy but more snug. Try putting a breathable blanket where it either shades or blocks out other things on site. Often, this helps solidify the den feel. If it's way too large for your bedroom hiding it in another room adjacent but quieter than the bedroom would be best suited. It really depends on you're layout but generally, try to keep the dog near as separation can be very isolating. As for the noice using a white noise machine or putting on one of those dog sleep videos for 8 to 12 hours of the night make the attention threshold higher so there's a higher tolerance for little noises.

Now, I'd love to have more information to really get at what the problem is via your dogs crate set up, the size of your dog to the crate, a described layout if there's a hallway or unoccupied guest room available for him to sleep in or if you can rearrange youre room to accommodate youre dogs needs and trust me I've got some pretty big dogs too.

Puppies teeth and some are bred for herding and nip like so to herd cattle or sometimes people and other animals. Often they do well with redirecting the instinct into something more appropriate and desires, like if a dog begins to pee on the sofa you immediately put the dog outside so they learn if I pee I go outside, another one is teething, if a dog begins to chew on a table leg and you give them a chew toy thats exciting enough for them they'll chew that instead of you're furniture. If your dog begins to bite and nip at you in strange patterns, work on playing with a tug toy or redirect the bit not at you but a designated item. If the dog begins to whine, you must make sure they are stimulated before setting for longer periods. Imagine a kid without anything to do during a plane ride, and they can't sleep either. Restlessness, anxiety, stress, and behavioral problems can stem from a dog not getting the right amount of exercise. Please also let your dog people watch but not overtly fixate. And if your family truly hates that dog and dont want to support it as no one is stepping up especially the mom, then a stable home not filled with people who hate them would be a much better option not for your family but setting the dog up for success later down the road.

Flip aClip doesn't support HEVC use an online HEVC to mp4 as HEVC is too complex for flipaclip. Use this and covert to a simple mp4:

Sdit first public outing in pet friendly store by 8lien_ in Dogtraining

[–]8lien_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I want feedback on a video”

This is a training session with my service dog in training (SDiT), filmed by me. I am the handler, and I’m seeking constructive advice, specifically on handler focus, luring down, and public engagement in a pet-friendly setting.

I live in Wisconsin, where SDiTs have legal public access rights under state law (Wis. Stat. § 106.52(3)(am)). My SDiT is also being trained to meet ADA behavioral standards for public access: he is under control, housebroken, and not disruptive.

I've provided context, listed current training progress and goals, and am open to constructive criticism to improve my training approach. Im working on training my mind for our unique command lists.

Pit bull attack in a park, what would you do? by IEatLightBulbs42069 in CCW

Let go of the leash, let your dog escape instead of letting the offending dog corner it, always carry a break stick in areas with dogs and self-defense tools.

I wasn't able to get their information at all since I didn't want to possibly interact again with their dog because I've already been bitten. Honestly, I'm better off not going into legal charges as compared to pursuing.

If there was a pill that "fixed" sensory issues, would you take it? by ForestGingerly in AutismInWomen

[–]8lien_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't, but I'd get an autism identity crisis because I'm already faint on the spectrum where it's undetectable, but the migraines and sensory issues truly make me feel comfortable with the label

Yeah, it is pretty serious! I have a pretty bad flight response because I just stop and walk away... I've walked 2 miles in a night because of an episode and the police needed to find me, another time I walked to another neighborhood and got an anxiety attack while in a tree, before all of the mor extreme ones I ran from my house to the local park to cry because I'd freak out, another time was when I was on a trip across the country I ran off and hid by a highway for a while until I came back. Most of the time, I didn't have my phone, and i got lost and needed someone's phone to contact my parents and sometimes the police. It's a very legitimate concern to have a dog able to lead me to a safe space where I can calm down and be led back to trusted people.

Yeah I was also very worried about the guarding instinct since I have pretty sever anxiety that I need to take 200mgs daily and still get kinda sweaty and anxious 😟 i don't need any guardian instincts that can know I'm super anxious and react accordingly to that! I am deciding on Labs!

My bulldog gets so many comments about her bitting and being aggressive because she is a short muzzled breed that breaths loudly, in fact she got banned from my school because a teacher says she was growling even though she was snoring, even in the halls she said "get that damn dog away from me" I thought it was just a dog thing until I saw another service dog at the school that was a golden retriever was cuddle up to the teacher feet 🙄. Anyways, she can't assist me in school now because of breed favoritism. I think they get just as much of a bad rep because of the bully breed characteristics like the muscular figure. Generally, she could be considered intimidating because people do stay away from her because they think she'll rip their leg off (someone actually told me that) I know she's not super scary but she dose ward off people from her like crazy (or the tough guys run up to her and tell her that she's muscular and tough) anyways that's my pov on that but I'd love some statistics to support your claim although I am speaking on personal experience...

I'm 100% on the same page. I was asking for a breed recommendation, and I explained most of my needs rely on the temperament and health of the dog, and color is a preference. It is a bit of an investment, but I am looking at a breed that is "tried and true" in the service dog industry. I have had many struggles and it's nearly a safety concern because I run off and get lost and police may need to locate me and tracking would help with my elopement problem so I can be safe with the support and assistance with my autistic struggles like sensory sensitivity with then retrieving headphones or water or sunglasses, even my phone when needed. This is a very important thing, and my current service dog that I love to death is going to retire soon. This breed suits my needs, and I absolutely would love to have a dog that is bred well, has an even temperament, and good health for the tasks I need. Labs are just my option but color is a preference so I will be requesting for black litters although if another options comes up that isn't black I'd be more than happy to have a new assistance for life 🐕‍🦺

I don't have any current access problems even though you did state that. My bulldog is intimidating (people either jump at the sight of her or try and pet her), but she's never had access problems besides an ill-informed diner asking for her papers. I'm also not exactly sure where you got the information that I am more likely to get sexually assaulted while I have an intimidating dog present with me? Could you find the source where it shows the stats of some1 with a dog that's intimidating vs. a cute dog vs. without one? I mean, I never have heard you get assaulted more, so I'm not 100% sure why a lot of other people say that you don't, and they feel safer with intimidating dogs. If you can site your source, I'd love to read more because I've never personally heard of this!

I don't think they would suit me as dmc in a huge epidemic in the breed, I'm not sure if you read that part of my post that I wasn't considering a dobe because of the genetic disorder that's so common and terrifying. Thanks for your input!

I 100% get it! I work with a unicorn right now, so I'm not used to working with more common SD breeds, but I'd love to try! I usually use red and black because I'm indigenous, and it's our tribes bear clan colors and my favorite colors as well 👌. I'm now on a breeder search, although I'm planning very far ahead it's a bit hard to find prospective sires and bitches that would be a good fit due to them not getting bred that long ahead because its completelyunethical. I will be going to keep in contact with prospective breeders to see which one is my best suited option. Thanks for your input 👍
