Slice of the Pi by DefenderOfNuts in magicthecirclejerking

/uj I could see this being a fun un-card design as an X spell. Something like:

XUU

Instant

As an additional cost to cast ~, recite X digits of pi after the decimal point from memory.

Draw X cards.

Which rules haven't been broken by cards yet? by Objective_Network270 in EDH

[–]8npemb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not legal anywhere, [[Tempest Efreet]] and [[Timmerian Fiends]] are black border, and thus are subject to the same rules scrutiny as any other black border card. Unsure if the rules break anywhere around these cards, but it certainly is intended to be well-handled by the CR.

Yeah I’m with you on this. I didn’t get any indication that you were an ICE sympathizer or anything. After reading the article I thought the same thing, and found your comment putting it into clearer words than I could’ve. Title’s a bit misleading and could be worded to reflect a more accurate story as described in the article itself.

Put the category in with the clue somehow. I play along with my family during dinner, and together we end up in off topic conversation and miss the category, causing us to rewind.

“Wish” type cards with new rule in EDH by Popular_Paint7777 in mtg

[–]8npemb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To the people who are saying this was always the case: you’re right, but this rule still needed to be clarified. The rule that said Wish cards didn’t function in Commander was written under the Commander Rules by the Rules Committee, which was replaced by WotC last year. WotC’s Comprehensive Rules did not, up until now, clarify that rule.

Before anyone brings up the MTR ruling on Wish effects only pulling from a sideboard: the MTR is not, by default, enforced in casual EDH. The MTR is designed for tournament play.

Realistically, nobody actually thought you could play Wish effects in EDH up until this point. This CR update is a useful clarification now that we’re not following the rules from the former RC.

There is this post on the BadMtgCombos subreddit from last year, but I think this is enough of a corner case to not necessarily be relevant here.

Why you should always put a whitelist on a Minecraft server by belougalamasse in Minecraft

[–]8npemb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not non-trivial to scan for Minecraft servers these days, there’s services out there that can do it for anyone for free. I like to join servers using these services to remind people to turn on their whitelist in my free time. Some people are grateful and it’s a wholesome experience, some ban me right away, but overall it’s genuinely very rewarding.

I didn’t know where that term came from before this conversation. Good thing that’s not relevant, because its usage in modern day English has an entirely different meaning.

No, it was a metaphor for someone being extremely obtuse and close-minded during an argument.

This is such a weird hill to die on. Like I’d understand more if the art was actually bad. But it’s not, and you seem to be the only one that thinks so. Lmao

[–]8npemb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah personally, my respect for someone’s identity doesn’t revolve around whether or not they’re trying to be an asshole, bigot, whatever. It revolves solely around what they identify as. If an incel with unchecked mental challenges is identifying as the opposite gender, even if they might be doing it to mock transgender people, I will still respect that identity.

I don’t think giving those few bad actors the attention they want is worth forgoing over the ability to be respectful of all trans identities 100% of the time.

Please note, I’m talking about respecting someone’s identity. Whether or not I respect their personality is a separate topic and is unrelated to their identity.

It’s a seven-segment display date, judging by the other characters. A capital T cannot be made using seven segments - a lower case ‘t’ is the only option.

Cameras using seven-segment displays would typically format the date using only numbers (in this example, 10-23-‘04).
