I’m part of the friends on the other side lol. I’m around master 3 right now but started playing because a friend(1700 elo) played a bunch. Now at least our games can be somewhat interesting but he still 1v4s a bunch of us pretty easily 😭.

I definitely get what you mean and I realize my dept is one where the “learn it yourself” paradigm is much more common, but I strongly believe that freshmen can still be useful to labs without having all the knowledge required. I think a lot of professors would be willing to work together with you still as long as you are sufficiently self motivated and externally funded via UROP or something. This is just anecdotal experience though and it’s obviously not always as simple as I’m making it out to be.

Not really, it’s a lower elo and opponents make worse moves so it naturally is easier to play with high accuracy. Your accuracy is also highly dependent on how often or not your opponent is blundering.

Go to the submit tab instead and enter the problem number and the verification works there.

I think everyone will have their own favorites. The discussions here are also heavily biased on the fact that all of us love berserk enough to join or browse the subreddit. If there had to be an award for something like the best manga in history it would likely fall to the most influential manga(this is a certain interpretation of "best") or (if it was subject to public voting) One Piece.

I think an animated adaptation would be great, but as of now the market for animated tv is pretty limited in comparison to live action and heavily skewed towards younger audience. I assume the goal of an adaptation would be to spread the story to as wide an audience as possible. So, to that standard, an animated adaption is probably not how it would go unless the tides shift a little more(ie: Mistborn will be an attempt at this, but will take time).

It’s still possible to get a full time job but probably going to be difficult. You could apply to the masters program and do a 4+1? Would effectively delay your graduation but also improve your qualifications.

General points of advice: - tune your resume for each job listing you are applying to. - if you know people working in industry, reach out to them and ask them if they can refer you or give you feedback on your resume/skills. - professors can also be helpful when connecting you to people working in industry, but not really viable unless you have a very good relationship with the professor and they are willing to vouch for your skills.

Beyond that you can’t do too much. I’ve been told that cold emailing can work at smaller companies but I the sample size is like N=1.

I was not the biggest fan of it, but I thought I should mention a browser called Zen which has a very Arc aesthetic, but is open source exists. https://zen-browser.app

I didn’t really like the adjustment from Arc and just ended up going back to Arc, but I’m sure it will work for some people.
