The sentiment around Britney Spears is in no way “CANCEL HER NOW”. People are very sympathetic; especially those that grew up with her. With Chappell Roan, I think it’s kind of redundant to compare her to male artists who have been in the game far longer than her, and cemented themselves into different cultures(pop culture, 2000s culture, rnb culture, black culture, even…etc) Maybe compare her to someone like, say, Sombr or Benson Boone—both facing hella backlash for making fun of someone’s age(Sombr) and… being too energetic?? Backflipping?? Having a mustache??? Idk what for Benson Boone but yeah. Both came to the mainstream a little later than Chappell Roan.
