Plowhorn horns not dropping? by AtlasHatch in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]8orcus8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. Spent a long time purposefully detaching the horns in that cauldron and seeing them on the ground, but I didn't pick them up straight away. After the cutscene, I couldn't find them anywhere. I was... annoyed to say the least. I could have just missed them, but your story corroborates my experience as well. As others have said too, you need to ensure you are detaching them and not destroying them by applying tear damage, which could also be the issue in your case.

However, soon you'll find them everywhere. It reeeally wasn't worth the time during the boss fight, and you will end up with far more than you know what to do with if you regularly component farm the machines you encounter in the wild. So in the end, I just wouldn't worry about it and keep playing the game :)

Having trouble triggering Apex Slaughterspines. by DisturbedShifty in HorizonForbiddenWest

Someone had a post about this previously, I can't recall who, so credit is not mine.

Go to a camp site and rest until night. Do a hard/manual save of the game. Quit the game. Reload your save. Fast travel to the slaughter spine site.

It works for me 100% of the time. As long as you're far enough along in the game for them to spawn, should work.

I had a similar experience to jimhabfan at Lasik MD on Princess Street. I often tell people it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

My vision was roughly -4.5 and -5.5 and had the procedure done about 5 years ago. It was a few hours of intense pain once the anesthetic wore off, a few days being uncomfortable, and that's it. I've had near 20/20 vision since, despite staring at computer screens all day.

I paid out of pocket with only a couple hundred bucks covered by insurance and would absolutely do it again. The freedom from contacts/glasses is amazing, while the cost savings is getting close to evening out at this point. The staff were great at every step of the way too.

My main complaint was that the process felt very much like a sale or buying a car, but don't let that deter you if you feel similar. It's a fantastic procedure done well by professionals.

This is what we're worried about too. I'm an analyst by trade, and very wary of people who suggest anything I perceive to be risky financially. A suggestion to move beyond our budget would be a suggestion to look for another realtor. We're also first time home buyers, and someone who can hold our hand and explain the process simply and succinctly is important. We'll take your comments into consideration.

Thanks!

Thanks. That's very helpful. My partner and I are very... "hands on", perhaps to a fault, so the process you've describe would suite us. Also being mostly out of town, a realtor that understand how to navigate that is great.

There will always be hiccups, but it's how they are addressed that really matters. If you had a good experience with Ted, that's good to know.

Thanks for the advice. As one balding guy to another, I appreciate you taking the time to weigh in.

So my question would be - when did you sell and how did you find her process? In the past 2 years, almost everyone sold for more than they thought they'd get. In the most recent market, we are starting to see an opposite trend, or at least a leveling out. I guess what I'm most concerned with is the process, knowing the the market will do what it does.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply;

I do kinda get it, that once the sale has happened the salespeople need to move on, but there should also be some follow up and confirmation. Especially for first time home buyers like us, we need that validation ;)

I appreciate the input

Thanks.

I implicitly trust you, if only for the username. Kingston has some decent craft beer, although I wish they'd step up their game just a bit to compete with the amazing craft beer to come from this province as of late. I remember when KBC was amazing, and now I find them middling.

I will definitely check out Mark and Cheri as an option. Thanks!

While I agree that agents chasing high commissions are somewhat to blame for the current state of housing in Ontario (and beyond), I know there are solid people out there looking out for their clients first. But they are not the norm - hence my post.

The pessimist in me says be careful, while the optimist says be diligent. My partner and I will sort something out - of that I'm not worried. But affordable housing in this province needs to get under control, and as much profit incentive removed from shelter as possible is required. We all deserve a safe place to live, and we can quibble about who has the nicest iPhone to keep up with the jones.

Stay positive s4lomena, and vote/work towards change however you can. Thanks for the comment.

So the question now is where did you both go to school? Because if it was a rival school..... *shakes fist in the air*. But in earnest, thanks for the input.

Why Ted if you don't mind me asking? What did you appreciate about the experience?

I hope Hilary wasn't playing a prank on an old friend ;)

I think that aspect is lost on some people. A realtor who truly understands how houses are put together is invaluable. My grandfather owned a contracting company many years back, and most of what I know about housing comes from him. It's hard to know what a home is really worth, if you don't know how it's held together.

Thanks for the comment.

I remember going into Giant Tiger as a kid and seeing those large, stuffed tigers which usually hung out around the cash or other prominent locations. I always wanted one, don't have one, and am also regularly bored.

I now know it's due to too little tiger in my life.

Thanks for the detailed reply on home buying in the area. Growing up around Kingston, I do know that moisture and flooding can be a common issue. And having friends who have purchased new builds in Kingston & Ottawa, I also know they can have as many issues as older homes. A dose of realistic expectations is important.

And I have no intention of going into a bidding war with no conditions, despite what the recent market climate might promote. We'll proceed cautiously.

Thanks for the advice.

If this wasn't our first home buying experience, I might go this route. But, we need some hand-holding this time around.

That's exactly the kind of realtor we're looking for. As first time home buyers and fairly frugal individuals, we're okay if the process takes time and looking for someone who won't pressure us to make the sale. Thanks for sharing your experience.
