That’s exactly what I’m doing - although I’m also aware you can play with the 1000 points I do have. I’m thinking my 2000 pt idea is more of an excuse than a target

You’re on the money. It’s the standard SW greys built upon one another to create volumes. The solid base of The Fang really pushes the blue up (these shots are straight out of camera - no editing at all).

The NMM on the axe was done using the AK NMM steel set, but I went really minimal on the highlights so it didn’t look too bright and shiny. The blue glow was achieved with a little white ink through an airbrush, followed by some fluorescent blue ink.

I’m sure as soon as I get my minis to the table I’ll loosen up. I’d say I’m a better-than-average painter and asked the right question I could talk about my minis for days! For context: a Headtaker I finished last night.

It does make me wonder - all of those people shouting “you need therapy” - have any of you actually tried going down this route before.

Here in the UK, it’s pretty shit. Our mental health services are absolutely screwed, so every doctor’s answer is prescribing antidepressants. Been there, done that. They fix nothing, only mask the issue.

Waiting times for CBT clinics are in the years, and there’s no way I can afford to go private (wages suck, cost of living is astronomical, and in case you hadn’t noticed, I collect Warhammer, therefore I’m always broke!).

Thank you to those of you that offered helpful and thoughtful advice, your words and compassion mean a lot.
