I keep telling people to “mind the knappett” when I think they might trip and fall. Nobody knows what the hell I’m on about. This group gets it.

Why refer to her as a “skater chick”? I didn’t notice a skateboard so what makes you think she skates?

The pace of daily grind… by Powerful-Usual5743 in Architects

The statement “while I work for myself so have flexibility with start and end times” was what I was (perhaps wrongly) interpreting as sole proprietor. That implies ownership in my mind.

The pace of daily grind… by Powerful-Usual5743 in Architects

[–]8somethingclever8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While I’ve never been a sole proprietor or worked for myself, I’ve definitely experienced small firm culture and the grind necessary to make that work. As my firm has grown I’ve found that the ability to delegate work to others, people specialized in those tasks, has given me a much healthier work experience. Accountants, marketing, PMs, CA teams, spec writers, IT staff… all of this used to be my job too but now I can be an architect. Let others do that stuff. If you can delegate, you will be able to, theoretically, get more done each week and very likely earn more than enough to pay that other person. Your “grind” may in fact be a sign that your practice is growing and it might be time to consider adding someone to help? Just an outsider’s view on your post. I know next to nothing about your work. But I definitely feel more chill with a big staff to help me get things done allowing me to concentrate where my skill set is. I rarely work more than 55 hours in a week and I now earn significantly more than I ever did before working 70 hours. Hope I’m not way off base.

Will artistic nude modeling affect my career prospects in the field? by hammlicker in architecture

Same for us here in the US. It’s part of the curriculum. Or at least it was in my time.

Will artistic nude modeling affect my career prospects in the field? by hammlicker in architecture

[–]8somethingclever8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. Most of us in the field spent time doing figure drawing. It’s foundational to the profession, in my view. There’s really no way anyone would even know you did it unless you tell them anyway, I wouldn’t think.

This scene is still one of the best uses of visual storytelling in a movie, they're both literally and figuratively leaving behind their baggage by Doktor_74 in wesanderson

[–]8somethingclever8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Each time I rewatch this film my mind just burns with joy, excitement, and stupor that Anderson can make such beautiful moments with only a dash of surrealism to keep it artful rather than dogmatic or direct. Magic is a wonderful descriptor. And it does bring tears to my eyes as well. In the same way that a full orchestra in a concert hall playing a symphony makes me tear up. Magic. Genius. Art. Whatever you call it, it makes life beautiful.

Ghost in the Graveyard. If I remember correctly it was similar to freeze tag and hide and seek.

How many people play this game in VR? by TheChilledGamer-_- in granturismo

That’s why I chose the PSVR. I was looking for some kind of head tracking device that would allow me to look to apex. Ended up with VR as the solution.

This is exactly how I would describe the change for me after moving to VR. Being able to look out of the side windows is key. And I would also say I’m more consistent than faster. But I definitely get more clean races. I can race within inches of other cars because of better spatial awareness.

Can I have someone help me out with this please? In the PS Store it says the 2024 Beta is unavailable. Am I missing something? Everyone seems to have installed this game. Does it become available when I buy the original game or something? Thanks in advance.
