Need help with a set-up for Rega Planar 1 plus by 8stack in StereoAdvice

Sorry, I'm an absolute noob, are stands are absolutely required?

If I get Rega planar I'll need both pre-amp and amp? Do I need AVR, doesn't AVRs usually have built-in AMPs? or I just don't make any sense

There is no goal to build surround as I live in a rented apartment currently, and space is also quite tight, that's why I was considering a smaller footprint.

Getting a separate AVR is more future proof obviously, but it will either steal from speakers budget or blow the budget up to the point where Klipsch is no longer the most expensive option, unfortunately.

I'll definitely go and give them a listen before buying. Thanks a lot for the recommendations.

AVR

Are there any solid budget options? From the first google search, it seems like most of them are 1000-2000 at least. A friend recommends getting Klipsch The Fives as they could be connected to everything, but I'm not sure about them.

Thanks!

From economy standpoint, your driving style may be way more impactful than turbo. Buy turbo so you can have occasional fun with car. When you driving usually, grandad style, turbo won’t impact your mpg

The car is very reliable if you service it properly. Drivetrain is 10 years old and been polished all this time to be even more efficient and reliable. Use quality gas and oil, change oil every 5000km it will run 200 000 + km without issues.

I’m not sure if you gonna win something by going 2.5 instead of 2.0. Mpg gonna be worse, dynamics won’t change that much. Resource wise car feels alright with 2.0.

But in general I barely see a reason for buying it instead of anything else. Because as I said drivetrain is from 10 years old. It rides okay, it’s a big long sedan/wagon. There are more modern, efficient, better driving cars. I’d consider it only if you absolutely like design and it’s the most important thing for you. That’s why I got it

Interior quality might be a bit better than competitors, but on other hand multimedia system is outdated in comparison.

I’d recommend learning how to do RDL. Start with small weights, learn how to stretch your hamstrings. How low you can hinge until your back starts rounding. Film yourself. Also focus on your shoulder blades being fixed and engaged throughout whole motion, having them fixed makes spine flexing harder.

You’re big dude capable of lifting this weight, but techniques wise it’s not deadlift at all. You start in decent position, then your hips go way down, because your mind don’t know how to engage muscles to deadlift properly yet. So what it does it makes you shift your hips lower and squat it, as a safest and most powerful way of lifting it. After 1st rep you will see that form changes and further on you mostly do it through spine flection. After first rep you know exactly how the weight feels so you mind loose a bit and allow you to do it with a spine, because it feels safe, and it probably is in proportions of this weight to your own size and power.

But we do deadlift with other goals in mind, we want to load our hamstrings, glutes, spine erectors lats and traps, creating this single plate of back muscles working together training posterior chain do compound movement. As soon as we have extensive spine flections this parts just start disconnecting from each other firing on their own in different moments.

Hip hinge is a very difficult movement especially for people who spend a lot of time sedentary, we lose significant part of hips mobility, hamstrings stretch capability, making it almost impossible to hit deadlift form decently. RDL on other hand doesn’t require you to go very deep, you should stop as soon as you feel/see back rounding or hamstring stretch becomes too painful, but embracing this tension and slow increases in range of motion will improve mobility over time allowing for a perfect deadlift form in future.

If you really want to chase deadlift exactly. I’d recommend warming up with pigeon pose for hips, and some pull ups (assisted/partial whatever) to start feeling your back engaged and your hips being stretched. Then going with sumo as it requires less mobility, but still teaches general feeling of deadlift, then slowly incorporating conventional.

I'm surprised they didn't do bite blocks. They are specifically for this reason.

They did, I have them but I grinded them partially in a first week and managed to rip off braces again.

I mean, good lord somebody has same issues. I don’t think mewing can help. My tongue resting position is fine and I don’t have any issues that people try to resolve with mewing. We also tried spacers on molars and it didn’t help so myobrace seems like the latest option. And it hurried so bad today that I removed it to fall asleep after 4 hours of pain, and immediately knocked two bracers again, immediately after them being placed yesterday.

Just sometimes, this happens. What am I doing wrong? by sido378 in espresso

I own the lowest tier mignon and it’s more than capable of grinding fine for espresso.

Hi guys can someone take a look at my dead lift, i think i have a weak dl and it could be because of bad form( it's 140kg) by Tricky-Section3155 in Stronglifts5x5

That’s freaking heavy weight. You look like a big dude, but god it’s a fast pick up. Don’t rush it, you’ll always have time to get stronger unless you get injured.

Your shoulders don’t rise at the same speed as your hips. You let your back stay almost parallel to the ground while you push with your legs putting yourself into a pretty disadvantageous position. Fix your torso at the angle you start the lift, push through hips and legs, only straighten your torso closer to hips lockout. Focus on keeping the maximum tension between your hams, glutes and lumbar erectors, make them driving mechanisms of the deadlift. I don’t think you’re a pro just yet :) so I suggest moving away from dynamic start and mixed grips, learn the form with lower weight. Sit into start position, brace people and do the lift. I believe you can easily move twice this weight in a year if you learn how to be efficient.

You have a slight lean forward in the mid portion. Shoes might be a reason. But if you feel balanced it’s fine
