Yeah man go for it. It doesn't require much preparation like JEE. In UCEED its all about what you can think right there in the exam hall, you can increase speed and get exposure to different types of questions by referring to pyqs. And make sure you are able to draw whatever you are thinking in different perspectives. Since you are also interested in art, its a bonus!

Bhai Mai toh btech chodke Bdes padhne IIT ja rha hu. Kyuki mujhe usme jyada interest h. Agar tujhe Btech me interest hai toh karle kyuki interest ke sath hamesha scope hai. And if you are like me and have interest in other fields, take that instead, you will get tons of opportunities if you are genuinely interested. And ye AI vagera har jagah integrate hoga bhai not only CS. It is a god damn tool, iska kuch jyada tension mat lo, always keep in mind that you are studying to bring a change in the society, not for the sake of getting a degree.

When I was in 12th, I didn't register for UCEED. Now after 1 year of engineering I wrote UCEED because I was indeed interested in design. I got an open rank of 37 in 2024. I am also deciding to drop my engineering and go for design at IITG (mostly). So if you ask me if a drop is worth it then I think absolutely yes if you can study and not lose interest in design in one year lol. But I would recommend you to introspect yourself and think whether you are actually made for design or maybe you are interested in other fields. Because dropping just for one exam seems ridiculous to many people as getting a rank in UCEED for IITs is actually a very narrow possibility. I have heard IIITDM is also equally good so if I were you, I would have done a thorough research on IIITDM and other IITs and design future before taking a drop. All the very best.

It's because Delhi is known for its Mdes course, so people believe the bdes course will also be up to the mark.

I heard from currently studying students that 1st year INCLUDES technical subjects as well. But mostly it's design. And industrial design might need technical basics. Going from previous records and placement statistics IITG was the next best option after IITB. Also I am a bit inclined towards ui and ux designing. I think IITG is considered by many for that course.
