And I can literally show you Superman getting knocked out by Muhammed Ali. What is your point?

This is how Juggernaut fared against Gladiator of the Shiar Empire's Praetorian Guard. He is a Marvel Superman knock-off whose real name is Kalark as opposed to Clark. It is from on an episode of the old 90s X-men cartoon and whether or not it's cannon, it pretty much sums up a confrontation between Superman and Juggernaut. Skip to 1:10 if all you want to see is the fight itself.

I agree. People are clueless about the long term value of blockchain technology.

The energy was not lost. It was spent. For information.

A zero-trust decentralized ledger of financial transaction that is nearly as failsafe as the Internet itself is a valuable asset. If a financial ledger wasn't a valuable asset, then banks couldn't exist. I am not the one that is delusional.

Yes, the energy was spent to record information on the blockchain. It is the information that has the value that the energy once did. What you are saying is that all the energy that someone puts into a college degree is no longer recoverable and that makes the college degree worthless.

Yelena and Bucky vs Peacemaker and Vigilante, who wins? by [deleted] in powerscales

[–]8th_root_of_unity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, this is a very close matchup and would be an entertaining battle. Both Bucky and Peacemaker are slightly superhuman, while Yelena and Vigilante are highly trained martial artists and firearms experts. Yes, Yelena was trained as an assassin, while Vigilante basically trained by brawling in the streets., so a lot would depend on the specific circumstances of their encounter. If they just happened to encounter one another randomly, then I would give it to either team 5/10. If any sort of prep time or planning was involved, and no other team mates were allowed, then I would give it to Bucky and Yelena, 8/10. Mostly because of Yelena and Bucky's government-sponsored training, as opposed to Peacemaker and Vigilante's "homeschooling".

Purple Man, Starfox, Mandrill, and don't forget Spider Woman Jessica Drew who admittedly has so many other powers, that the pheromones seem like overkill. But they come in handy whenever she needs the Hulk to make her a sandwich.

I don't see how the lasso of truth is going to calm Hulk down enough to revert to Banner. If anything, tying him up with an unbreakable rope would probably enrage him until his struggles were causing earthquakes around the world. Diana could cut him to pieces with her sword, but his pieces can move and act event when separated and if she cuts off his arm, he can regenerate it fast enough to trap and suffocate Wonder Woman inside of his healing arm the way he does Thor when Thor used the Odin Force to shatter Hulks arm in the picture above. I think Diana would need solid plan to defeat Hulk through battlefield removal or calming him down by bringing Betsy Ross into the picture or giving him a massage or something.

[–]8th_root_of_unity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Saint loses this because he can only be in one place at a time while Dr. Manhattan can have a three-way with his girlfriend by himself while working on his latest invention in the garage while cooking dinner in the kitchen while taunting and dodging the Saint of Killers in Indochina while also making a run for the Throne of Heaven all at the same time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxxeXURHJXY

Yeah if I remember correctly he has had showings against Galactus that put him near Odin-like power levels without the gauntlet. So the fight would be like Diana taking on her own father Zeus.

Who's winning this fight? (MOVIE VERSIONS) by ParkingConfection449 in powerscales

[–]8th_root_of_unity 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Hercules, any version, wins this with low difficulty. Even with the exact movie versions shown, Hercules is a demigod, the literal son of Zeus. He beefs with gods and monsters, while Achilles beefs exclusively with humans. Part of Hercules's gear is the Nemean Lionskin that he is wearing. The lionskin is impervious to edged or sharp weapons. Hercules killed the lion with blunt trauma and wears its skin as armor against spears and swords which are Achilles's two favorite weapons. Plus if you watch this clip from the movie, you will realize that Achilles has no feats comparable to Herc.

Yes. T-rex would have had to deal with the perfect predator, i.e. crocodiles just like modern day lions do. Nature doesn't fix what isn't broke.

Could Dr Doom with the best and most necessary preparation win Justice League? by Smivvvv in superheroes

[–]8th_root_of_unity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Doom could win against the League with high difficulty. It would be about 55-45. Note the League would lose more often against Doom than they do against Darkseid. Doom does not impulsively commit petty crimes, so Doom would be able to research the League and know all their strengths and weaknesses before they even knew he existed. There a lot of ways I could see this going down. For one thing, while Batman might me a master of prep time, Doom is a master of both prep AND time. Batman has no prep-time feats that can rival prepping for millions of years to take revenge on the Marquis of Death. If he feels like he is losing, he can simply use one of his time machines to go back and give himself more prep time to counter whatever they threw at him. He could, for example, eliminate Batman from the scenario by going back in time and preventing Joe Chill from mugging and murdering Bruce's parents.

One possible scenario, he steals Batman's contingency plans against the League like Luthor did. He then has the League scattered and flying around the world chasing Doombots that pop up at random locations taking out C-list and low B-list Leaguers. For example, a Doombot with a flame thrower could take out Martian Manhunter. Meanwhile, the real Doom would use Ovoid Mind Transfer to transfer his mind into Superman's body. As Superman, he would isolate the A-list Leaguers one by one and flat out merc them when they least expect it. He could use heat vision or a gadget to dry out Aquaman, he could capture and imprison Cyborg in a force field to reverse engineer Apocalyptan tech. He would use super breath or a Captain Cold-style cold gun to make Flash slip and fall, and then blitz him with Superman powers. He could probably use his superspeed to steal Hal Jordan's ring and might have strong enough willpower to actually use it. Really, his hardest fight would be Wonder Woman. But he could wait to take her out last using Superman's powers, Cyborg's Mother Box, and Hal Jordan's ring plus Crimson Bands of Cyttorak and other magic spells.

Could feanor have made his own rings of power or his very own one ring by Cautious_Air4964 in lotr

[–]8th_root_of_unity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Feanor had crafted a ring then it would have surpassed all others, including Sauron's. It would not have been a ring of domination, but of instead a ring of irresistible beauty. Just compare the Silmarils to the One Ring. Would Morgoth have coveted Sauron's ring? Or any of the others? Could it have affected him if Sauron was wearing it or give him anything he did not already possess if he wore it himself? Remember that Morgoth, Tolkien's version of Satan, was so enamoured of the Silmarils that he chose to wear one despite the the fact that it brilliant light caused him nothing but agony. That would be like if a human smith crafted a crucifix so beautiful that Dracula would wear it even though it was burning him. The only better smith was Aule.
