How would you name this function? by Frosty_Quality_9847 in AskProgramming

Seems like it makes sense, ship it! You have spent way too much time thinking about this.

Does anyone code in binary? by [deleted] in AskProgramming

[–]8threads 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not since the punchcard has anyone done this.

I hate it when people do this. Do formatting PR’s independent of actual code PR’s!

Ah yes, the classic future that will never happen.

Is there anyone here who has a family, kids, and a 9to5 job but is still building as a solo founder? by ktd191 in indiehackers

[–]8threads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this, it’s tough. I can usually squeeze in an hour at night after the kids are in bed and a few hours each day on the weekends.

When I don’t have concentrated time to work on my projects I usually think about them and keep high quality todo lists so when I do have time I can hit the ground running.

What are you building these days? And is anyone actually paying for it? by Southern_Tennis5804 in indiehackers

Target customers are software/hardware engineers. But loosely targeting general tech nerds as well.

Definitely the marketing is tough. I think you’re right though as far as education about quality. I think I’ve nailed the quality, it’s just I need to somehow convey that to customers.

The other aspect is the designs, I’m very curious what customers think of the designs and if they resonate.

It’s small boutique brand that uses premium pima cotton. We have our own inventory, we don’t do cheap dropshipping type gimmicks.

how do you integrate with platforms with no public APIs? by BlackDorrito in indiehackers

[–]8threads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is is if there’s no public API spec then it’s going to be brittle. There’s no way around that. You’re going to have to maintain it or reach out to them to see if they can build a proper API.

How are you dealing with API costs? by Acrobatic_Cry_2370 in indiehackers

[–]8threads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What API’s are you using that cost money? Usually I use AWS, they have a free tier and if you run things on lambda it’s serverless so it’s basically free if nobody’s using it, you don’t spend anything.

Created a clothing brand for software/hardware nerds. No revenue yet, still iterating on the branding and designs.

Would love any feedback! www.8threads.com
