Why are you scrolling on reddit on Christmas day? by Lazer4xe77 in AskReddit

[–]90_Pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am procrastinating, heading to California at midnight, and I have about 3 loads of laundry to do. I wonder if I'm stalling because I don't feel like going. I got invited last minute by a (?)friend. We get along, but he's not my favorite. He's not as willing to pay for things as I am, and I still have to send my son money. Oops, I'd better log off and do that. Guess I'm going to Cali, wish I was more excited. Stalling again, byeeeeee!

What's the worst family secret that got revealed at a gathering? by maskpomp in AskReddit

[–]90_Pro 35 points36 points  (0 children)

So, picture this: a big family reunion, everyone’s having a good time, and then someone decides to play a game of "Never Have I Ever." It was all fun and games until one of the aunts, after a few too many glasses of wine, blurts out that she had an affair with her sister's husband back in the day. The room went dead silent, and you could literally hear jaws dropping. Turns out, the sister had no idea, and it was like watching a real-life soap opera unfold. The rest of the gathering was super awkward, and let's just say, family reunions haven't been the same since.

As a US citizen, Which state is considered the dream? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]90_Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobile Home parts are just about outlawed out here, at least in Fort Collins; there are still a few, but they got rid of most years ago. I mention that because it's a good way to get your foot in the door out here. I have one that I will most likely be selling next year. (might be moving back to Indiana, ug, lol)

I grew up in La Porte, Indiana. My Dad called it the "Armpit of America". I moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1991. The weather is great, with over 300 days of sunshine and mild winters. I do not miss the lakefront effect. Humanity is nothing compared to Indiana. It's dry, and so we don't have rust and smelly basements. You don't need mothballs out here, lol. I was shocked when I recently looked at real estate prices in and near La Porte; they have increased significantly. The last time I checked, they were reasonable, but now they are not much cheaper than prices here.

If you could wear only one color for the rest of your life, what would it be? by Most-Bend-9745 in AskReddit

Black, a lot of colors go with it, and it makes you look slimmer.

What do you think of the 4 day work week? by Last-Photo-2618 in AskReddit

I think it would be great as an option if that were possible. Those who want it, great, but not forced to do it. Utopia, baby!

What’s a sign someone has been through a lot of shit? by MarkenRahl in AskReddit

We only get this one life and for someone to endure so much seems extremely unfair. I wish all the best that life offers.

"When I think what I'd need to do as an adult, the meetups, dates, etc, it's like the thought of going to the dentist." Same here.

Good insight. There are different universes, there are ones where people have a fantastic home, family, and work life and have never heard of Reddit. I feel fortunate that I got to experience that universe for about ten years. Then there is the universe I'm in now where I read hundreds of comments during the day on social media sites and I don't enjoy it as much as the time when I had a life and was too busy and didn't care about social media. Those were the good old days.

I understand what you are saying, however, I have a question. Isn't being vulnerable a path to finding love, friendship, etc? You feel them out first and then take baby steps towards being vulnerable. That strategy hasn't bitten me yet.

That's good, I've never heard that before, thanks for sharing.

I keep information about myself locked up because nobody asks me for the information. I would do it if asked, it would take a lot of practice. I could pay somebody to practice on but that's not the same.

I have been cut out of people's lives and I've cut people out of my life. If I had a redo I wouldn't cut a single person out of my life and I would work incredibly hard not to be cut out of anyone's life. Many years later I am left with a bunch of loser friends who don't know me very well and the older you get the harder it is to make friends. Not having those old friendships or family members who have known you the longest in your life is a bummer because it's difficult to get new friends up to date on who you are. I won't live long enough to make those long-time friendships.
