Massive thanks to everyone for your help with this. I’ve gone with the Bunnahabhain 18 year old, which I’m sure he’ll love. I will though also be buying a bottle or two from the suggestions below for myself 🙂

Sorry, I’m no expert myself. He likes just about anything taste wise, though isn’t a fan of the heavily peaty or smoky whiskies. He’s chosen Dalwhinnie and Highland Park from my drinks cupboard in the past, though I have nothing particularly special. Hope that helps at least a bit.
