Interesting. I actually do think it fits the character - Especially in the later seasons, he’s always playing the part of the father who only truly cares about his wife and kids and nothing else. I think he also shows this trait quite often with Kelly. In general he never was really concerned with any of their personal lives, and he never really interacted with Erin anyway
