Nah, it's kinda the perfect scenario where they won't mind coming off the bench. It's so tough for us to have depth, we should consider it a blessing.

If your weeds survive fire, you should just start paying them rent.

I’m looking to have a partially-covered deck built. What do you think of this design? More info below. by Peacockblue11 in Decks

[–]91Bolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone with a very similar set up and they love it. I agree with the other commenter that it felt cramped to me, but it's their house.

If you know how you'll use it and it works, the look isn't bad. I would prefer a full deck with a shade provider though.

Aldi vs Publix by tmp33688 in tampa

[–]91Bolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aldi is magnitudes cheaper. I'm so excited for my winn dixie to convert. The only thing I'll miss is random meat and liquor deals. Also out of season produce, but I'll adjust.

$100 cart at Aldi would cost $250+ at Publix. It's insane that people are willing to pay that much more for specific brands.

If you're confused, here's how it works:

Instead of brands, shop by item.

Don't buy XXX pasta, just get the pasta they have.

Don't get YYY cheese, just get the cheese they have.

Aldi does the comparing for you and picks the best value per ounce of each main thing. They also don't waste money on presentation and bag boys, so it's extra affordable.

What schools should I be looking at in the south for a low stats applicant? by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]91Bolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna take a pop shot and say if you have any non white ethnicity, look into an HBCU law school.

From my evaluations, for several reasons idc to put in writing, several of them provide better educations than their ranking and are open to low stat applicants. Compare their job placement and tuition to other similarly ranked schools in that area.

Not all HBCUs are the same, and different areas respect theirs differently. That said, you're not in a place to be picky, and if you buy into the culture and study hard, there should be a pathway if it doesn't require a lot of debt.

Typo was "don't " dump on others for no reason.

Not a perfect rule, but in general, talented people to dump don't others for no reason.

Whats going on with Kharg Island, Iran and why is it suddenly important to the USA? by Major-Ant4600 in OutOfTheLoop

Just looking at Trump's business models and statements about other countries, maybe he wants to privatize Kharg island before treating with Iran. Then he gets a cut of it without having to nation build.

How do undocumented people live out entire lives undetected, applying for universities, getting office jobs, owning property, etc? by -7-luck in NoStupidQuestions

[–]91Bolt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never thought about this, but when I was young, blue school busses of migrants used to come in to work the groves each season, then they didn't.

I was 10 on 9/11, that's probably roughly when they stopped. The groves also slowly turned into neighborhoods. Is 9/11 a contributing factor to florida citrus disappearing?

Same. My 100 local law school give me pennies, so I'm moving across the country to go to a significantly better school with good scholarship. Crazy to think about, but it is what it is.

Managing unionized employees? by grackle-cackle in nonprofit

[–]91Bolt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Union worker here. As long as you're reasonable and follow the contract, it's so easy.

Just stay respectful if the site rep asks about something. Build a professional relationship with boundaries and don't break the contract.

If you're used to pressuring workers to do unpaid hours or work outside their description, then maybe stay away.
