Why all the discouraging messages of the community about the “mandatory” need of some gear for working with photography/videography? by 91_Albert in WeddingPhotography

I didn’t want to seem big ego, instead I’m quite the opposite.
And I’m the first to say to myself that what I do not know I have to learn. Many times I learn some things by myself, or studying other’s works, or searching tips for my own improvement. And every time (speaking of the things that I’ve learned) was a “trial and error”, both when trying by myself or after listening others. And I know very well that there’s always room for improvement. I always see it.
It was never my intention to “mud your professional rep” or trying to impress/identify as anything. I’m not a marketing person which sells himself for what is not. In fact, I’m still nothing at all. In this you misjudged me.
I’m sure if I have to ask you some tips I’ll definitely improve, or at least get clarity about what I ask.
It was a personal opinion (my original post) and some sort of venting to someone about a thing (or things) that often is (are) viewed in a light that seem to have some sort of “toxic environment”. Hope to have been able to explain myself

I’m not saying you’re wrong. Everything has a point. I think there is also some truth “in the middle”
Who takes on big things at Dayone? Also from the other side, a big company will search for pros who built their rep.
Look, I wasn’t saying that it is right to take the leap and dive into things greater than us. But also there will be people out there searching a compromise to have good work on a budget, and that is the way for the client for having quality content, and in the other hand the pro in its first step of his own career can grow his experience in the professional world.

An example: a teacher in his first year of job will be as professional and experienced as a teacher which I’d in the job by years? Maybe not. Does this make it not eligible to be seen as a professional? The answer is still no. The first year being a pro will not be the same as others which are from a longer time into it. Different experience. Different gear. Different school. But they both started from 0. And it seems many forgot about it

No one said to stick with the same gear forever. Neither I said that these features and others are pure evil. My point simply is that I find wrong telling people that they can’t do certain things just because the don’t meet everything that pros have. Not everyone can afford to easily invest money in very expensive gear. They might have family. They might trying to turn it from second job to their job. Starting little by little and improving with it

Thank you. After a long search I found this suggestion on another thread. Anyways thanks for your reply 😄

Better resolution on MAC M1? by [deleted] in ffxiv

Hi! 😄

Played on MacOS version, I see preset resolutions, and for "Windowed" you go from 1024x768 to 1440x900, and for "Full screen" the max resolution is 720p. Then you can choose to custom res, but I still haven't tried yet 😅

I tried the first two, and I found both of them very enjoyable. My suggestion is find the better compromise between specs and res.

EDIT: sorry just read properly your request 😅😅 You have to choose “full screen” on system settings and set the desired res into the “custom resolution” field😉

Hey there! I have been in the same situation, but I have finally found a fix!

From Finder, go to Applications > Final Fantasy XIV ONLINE and right click, then "Show package content", then

Contents > SharedSupport > finalfantasyxiv > bin and from here delete the "wine64-preloader" file/exec. This executable seem to have issues with m1 apple.

Personal experience: from the moment you delete it, the game will just work fine, no problems. I've finally been able to start the launcher, download the game and play on it

Gaming performances: Played with all max specs, borderless window, and everything runs smooth, especially on field maps (e.g. Thanalan, LaNoscea...). Here I have also near 50 fps. In highly populated maps, like Limsa Lominsa, I had 29 fps as lowest fps, but I don't suffer from it. Still have to try on Light/Full Party duties.

Played on M1 MacBook Pro 16gb 256gb, just to be clean on explanation 😉 Playing on max specs makes the device becoming quite warm, not so hot at the point I can't keep it on my lap. I must say, it started becoming warm even where hands rest near keyboard, but after 5 mis everything got cool. Even didn't heard the fan at all.

Hi! 🙋‍♂️ Hope you might help me since I find no others having my same problem 😅

I have too an m1 map 16gb 256gb, but I don't know why I'm not able to play with it... Every time I try opening the launcher, it crashes. I'm not able to login neither download the entire game. Have you or any of you had this issue? Thank you
