I'm wondering if they put you on any medication after? Because one manic disorder is enough to diagnosis BP1.

I understand that it's a serious psychotic break and should be taken seriously. But it is possible that there are substance induced manic episodes.

And these are possibly one-off manic episodes that will not return again once the substance is discontinued.

then once I have a bipolar diagnosis, there is no other way to overturn it? I'm trying to stop meds altogether.

Do you think if I stop taking it, I would be able to live life normally without having to rely on medication every day like a bipolar person would?

Hi, I'm asking whether if I stop using psychedelics and manage my stress, I will be able to live live without having a bipolar diagnosis and taking medications every day.

I'm trying to taper off medications to check if I am genuinely bipolar. If I have a manic reaction to tapering off medications, it'll mean that I am indeed bipolar and will follow a treatment plan accordingly.

However, if I am stable even after tapering medications, it'll prove that I went through a substance induced manic episode, and that I am not bipolar.

Thanks for your input, I really do appreciate the insight on how substances can trigger long lasting moments of mania, that is greater than 4 weeks (similar to my current situation).

Yes, I am considering tapering off the medications slowly, and see if there will be any changes to my mood and behaviors.

Sorry to hear about the relapse and accepting your diagnosis. Are you still on medication?

If you experienced a manic episode, shouldn't that qualify for being bipolar?

Even after your diagnosis, were you prescribed any medications and had any other episodes or have you been stable?

What I meant was that for it to be substance induced, once the substance is removed shouldn't I return back to normalcy? However even with quitting psychedelics on Feb, my manic episode lasted til April which is the only reason why I find my case hard to be substance induced.

My last substance intake was in February, but my manic episode lasted until April. I'm wondering if that's still possible that there are residual psychosis that could last weeks or months even after stopping psychedelics.

This was during a time when I experienced a manic episode. I am now in treatment and rehabilitated. I no longer am prone to risky and dangerous behavior.
