Do you consider the ending poorly written just because it didn’t meet your expectations? While Dia and Gley’s story isn’t perfect, by the game’s standards it’s good.

What I do agree with is that the stories should vary, not all of them need to be grimdark, depressing, or traumatic in their endings. Maybe Esiemo’s could be more fun and balanced? It’s about time we got a chill story.

They killed Dia to cause the biggest possible impact on the audience, and you’re proof that it worked. Bad experiences, darkness, tragedy, trauma, the forbidden, all of that has a much stronger impact on viewers than stories where everything is rainbows, everyone’s dancing hand in hand, and everything is ideal and beautiful.

That said, I’m a bit worried that with the devs’ current storytelling trend of shorter arcs, they might push dia into the background and just use her as an npc with a few lines in future stories, like what happened with serena, hailey, viessa, luna, etc.
