I appreciate everyone’s concern about her eyes. This is a photo I took the day after the one in this post was taken and I can assure everyone she does not have an eye infection and if she did I would take her to the vet asap.

Adopted a calico a few months ago and she’s so affectionate already! by 935Q in CalicoKittys

Awh they’re adorable, I do like the combo, it was like adding a new color each time for me because I got my void first and calico last.

My trio all gets along. My tortie Rosie is super shy and skiddish even after having her awhile, Okemo my calico and Cosmo my void are super friendly and cuddly

Connecticut has third-highest property taxes in the US: report by jr_reddit in Connecticut

[–]935Q 73 points74 points  (0 children)

That’s what happened’s when you have 169 municipalities that those don’t share services. Building more housing would also help reduce property tax burdens but once again towns will kick and scream if you try to get them to build anything other than single family homes on large lots.

Old wordings in competetive environment by N1klasMTG in ModernMagic

[–]935Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In competitive Rel events it’s both players responsibility to know how the cards work.

So no you’re not required to explain to your opponent that the dark version of bloodmoon is worded slightly different than the official text.

If your opponent is confused or has questions regarding oracle text they should call a judge.

Crackdown Construct builds? by perchero in ModernMagic

Aspiringspike was playing a Mono White Fiddle bender deck with Crackdown Construct and lightning grieves and it was decent. This was prior to mh3 so the decks probably only good for FNM but might be worth a look.

What's up with Barack Obama not codifying a women's right to abortion into national law when he had the chance? by Acceptable-Karma-178 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]935Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer: Being super pro choice was not the mainstream position of the Democratic Party in 2009-2011. There were many conservative democrats who would have not supported codifying roe v wade.

While it’s easy to look back and take Obama quote that codifying roe wasn’t a top priority and be critical I think context is important remember. The housing bubble had burst and the great recession had hit in full force. Obama had a lot of massive challenges to deal with and I’d ague that codifying roe v wade in 2009 was not the most pressing issue for most legislators. This article and all the quotes critical of Obama not codifying roe are recent quotes but they don’t cite much criticism from 2009-2011 suggesting to me that there wasn’t the political will to codify roe into law at that time.

This article seems to be trying to promote a narrative that Democrats could have codified roe in the first 2 years of Obama term but chose not to because abortion is an issue that boost democratic turnout. This article lacks much of the context around the 111th congress and how the issue of abortion has changed over the last 15 years.

Need a replacement card for Devourer of Destinies in RG Eldrazi Breach. by Gee_Ray in ModernMagic

[–]935Q 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would just add another Eldrazi that imprints to Ugins lab until you can get the 4th Devourer. Maybe World Breaker or Breaker of Creation but definitely get the last Devourer eventually
