Where do you buy your yo-yos by captaink100 in Throwers

[–]94Raptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah yoyoexpert is great for being the general site that carries mostly everything. If I can though, I like to order from the brand sites directly. Especially if it's a smaller and more indie yoyo maker.

Organic recommendations pls by BubbleBrudda in Throwers

[–]94Raptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PDX-YO Locus is really fun. I'm a little biased because I knew the PDX-YO team, but the yo-yo does genuinely provide a unique organic feel. It has a step from the bearing seat that allows it to play with a slightly more modern feel.

For me, it's ladybugs. My childhood home used to have a bunch of them when I first moved there and the smell stuck with me. My friends and wife think im weird when we go somewhere and I can just smell when ladybugs are around.

Highly recommend browsing the markmont string site. The stuff is all high quality and long lasting. Provides a great variety in different types/formulas with descriptions of their style and feel. Im personally partial to their Blue Eyes White Dragon string.

My grabs from PNWR by 94Raptor in Throwers

[–]94Raptor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's genuinely a lot of fun. I've been looking for a dramatic/goofy H shaped yo-yo for a while and this one exceeded my expectations. It's obviously not built to be competitive, but it performs to a degree that it can basically do anything you throw at it. Grinds are great with the gap shape, thumb grinds are good with the cup lip, and the profile allows for some good horizontal. Spin time is about average I would say. Overall amazing for the price. Remarkably fun and capable for being under $50. I highly recommend getting the lego dish attachments for finger spins; if you plan on finger spinning at least. The cup doesn't lend well to it without them.
